SOCAR announced on the 1st that it is launching “SOPICK,” a car subscription service that allows users to commit to a term of their choice—ranging from a minimum of 12 months to a maximum of 60 months—to use a vehicle.
With this launch, SOCAR now offers a full range of vehicle options, from car-sharing in 30-minute increments to mid- to long-term vehicle plans available for up to five years.
Drive for a month, then switch to a different car… No restrictions on brand or class
The most distinctive feature of SOPICK is that users can switch vehicles during the contract period.
With traditional long-term car rentals, it is standard to use the same vehicle for the entire contract period, and changing vehicles mid-contract may result in contract termination, transfer procedures, or penalty fees.
In contrast, with SoPic, as long as you’ve used the service for at least one month after signing the contract, you can switch to a different vehicle without any additional penalty fees, excluding delivery and reconditioning costs.
You can switch not only between different makes and models but also between new and used cars, as well as upgrade or downgrade your vehicle class.
For example, if you’re using a compact car for your commute, you can switch to an SUV or an electric vehicle due to life changes such as marriage or the birth of a child.

Tesla Model Y for 730,000 won per month… 7 models in the launch lineup
SoPic vehicles are categorized into “new cars,” “nearly new” vehicles (equivalent to test drive models), and “used cars” that have been driven for a certain period.
Inventory is disclosed on a per-vehicle VIN basis, allowing users to check mileage and vehicle condition before selecting their desired vehicle.
The launch lineup consists of a total of seven models, including two new cars—the Hyundai All-New Avante and the Tesla Model Y—as well as the Volvo XC60, Range Rover Evoque, KIA CORPORATION The New K8, Hyundai All-New Kona, and Genesis GV70.
SOCAR plans to add new vehicle models each month based on customer usage data.
The monthly subscription fee varies depending on the contract term. For a 60-month contract, the All-New Avante and All-New Kona cost 420,000 won per month, while the Tesla Model Y costs 730,000 won per month.
Returns accepted within 7 days… Quality control at dedicated centers
SoPic is available nationwide, excluding Jeju and certain remote island and mountainous areas.
Users can specify their preferred vehicle delivery date between 1 and 5 days after signing the contract, and the entire process—including vehicle pickup—is handled contactlessly via the SOCAR app.
You can return the vehicle within 7 days of receiving it, regardless of the reason. During this period, there are no separate cancellation fees; you only need to pay the prorated fee based on the actual usage period and the delivery fee.
To ensure vehicle quality, SOCAR also operates a dedicated Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) center for SoPic vehicles.
All vehicles provided by SoPic are delivered to customers after passing through this dedicated PDI center. Used cars also undergo a reconditioning process at this center to ensure their condition is maintained.
Lee Jun-no, Head of SOCAR’s New Business Division, stated, “This is a ‘free car subscription’ service that retains the convenience and joy of car ownership while minimizing the burden,” adding, “Based on our expertise in car-sharing operations, we will offer competitive prices and a diverse range of vehicle models to provide a new alternative in the long-term car rental market.”
