(Photo courtesy of Korea Investment & Securities) On the 6th, Korea Investment & Securities held a “Pension MTS Briefing” at TP Tower in Yeouido, Seoul, and demonstrated key new features—including the redesigned pension home screen, “My Total Pension Assets,” and the “AI Investment Assistant.” The core of this redesign lies in simplifying the user journey so that previously complex pension procedures can be handled with minimal taps, while also implementing hyper-personalized services based on customer data analysis. Going beyond simply viewing held assets, the platform intuitively guides subscribers through the management tasks they actually need to perform, thereby facilitating proactive asset management. Recently, the domestic retirement pension market has seen a trend toward earlier retirement preparation, driven by expanding discussions on mandatory enrollment and a younger age demographic among Defined Contribution (DC) plan participants. According to an analysis by Korea Investment & Securities, the average age of new DC subscribers has dropped from 40 in 2015 to 36 in 2025. Meanwhile, the pension receipt rate has surged from 11% to 85% over the same period, indicating that the focus of the pension market is shifting from simple “accumulation” to “systematic management and receipt.” In response to this shift in the market paradigm, Korea Investment & Securities plans to significantly enhance the convenience of its mobile services and position itself as a “lifetime pension partner” that encompasses the entire process—from accumulation and management to receipt of benefits. The company also intends to establish a “virtuous cycle” by analyzing accumulated subscriber data from multiple angles to proactively propose the next phase of personalized management. In addition, the company will offer comprehensive pension solutions that organically combine the asset management know-how of its retail (PB) division, the expertise of its corporate finance (IB) division, and the investment management capabilities of its group affiliates. It plans to provide a differentiated “personalized management” experience by offering close-knit consulting from PB advisors to individual subscribers and linking dedicated solutions from the IB and corporate sales divisions to corporate clients. Choi Jong-jin, Head of the Pension Innovation Division at Korea Investment & Securities, emphasized, “As the market undergoes structural changes, pension providers must move beyond simply attracting subscribers or managing returns to offer comprehensive pension platforms that span an individual’s entire life.” He added, “Moving forward, Korea Investment & Securities will continue to refine its customer-tailored platform under the motto ‘There is no retirement from pensions,’ ensuring that customers can prepare for their later years in the easiest and most secure way possible.”
