[Edaily Reporter Kang Min-koo ] As the fifth launch of the Korean-developed Nuri rocket is scheduled for the 7th, CONTEC Co.,Ltd(451760), a domestic company specializing in space ground stations, will support ground station communications and initial orbital operations for seven of the 15 low-Earth orbit satellites to be carried aboard Nuri Rocket No. 5.
CONTEC Co.,Ltd will provide ground station communication services for seven satellites, including the five “NEONSAT” microsatellite cluster satellites (Nos. 2–6) from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST)—the primary payload—as well as DaejeonSAT-1 from Daejeon Metropolitan City and “Sledge” from O&B Space.

CONTEC Co.,Ltd has established an integrated control environment tailored to the mission characteristics of each satellite by utilizing the Jeju Asian Space Park ground station and partner ground stations.
Through this, the company plans to support initial communication and status checks for each satellite following the Nuri launch, as well as analyze satellite deployment and initial orbital data to support early orbital operations, including the analysis of Transit Element (TLE) data.
On the day of the launch, dedicated personnel will be stationed at the KOREA AEROSPACE INDUSTRIES and the CONTEC Co.,Ltd. control room at its Daejeon headquarters to verify communication status with the satellites immediately after launch and support the ground station control tasks required during the initial operation phase.
The company emphasized that this demonstrates CONTEC Co.,Ltd’s capability to simultaneously perform ground station control and orbital data analysis for multiple satellites, extending through to the initial operation of the satellites following launch.
Lee Seong-hee, CEO of CONTEC Co.,Ltd., stated, “We feel a great sense of responsibility for participating as the ground station mission partner for the primary payload on this meaningful journey—the fifth launch of the Nuri rocket,” adding, “Based on the ground station infrastructure CONTEC Co.,Ltd. has built and our experience in satellite operations, we will do our utmost to support stable communication and successful orbital insertion immediately after launch.”
Meanwhile, CONTEC Co.,Ltd has established and operates its own ground stations in 11 countries worldwide, including the Jeju Asian Space Park ground station, as well as in North America, Europe, and Asia. Building on its space data service capabilities—which span from reception to processing and analysis—the company is expanding its global business by supporting the initial operations and ground station services for domestic and international satellites following their launches.
