KO1KEYZ is the debut group from Mnet Plus’s idol audition program “Produce 101 Japan: New World,” which has previously launched groups such as JO1, INI, and ME:I.
The group consists of 12 members: Daiki, Itsa, Keito, Kosuke, Ryo, Ryuji, Shin-hyeong, Si-young, Towa, Yoshiaki, Yuki, and Yura. The members were selected based on the voting results of viewers from approximately 180 countries. Among the members, Si-young and Shin-hyeong are Korean, while the rest are Japanese.
The group’s name embodies their aspiration to “become the KEY that unlocks the hearts of fans worldwide and makes them fall in love.”
On this day, they released a single featuring “Koi Kids”—a song sharing the same name as the group—as the title track. “Koi Kids” is a 1990s-style dance track that captures the flutter of first love in a refreshing yet wistful way.
The single includes both Korean and Japanese versions of the song. It also features “Koi Game,” “Key of Story,” and a Koi Kids version of the theme song for “Produce 101 Japan: New World.”
Koikids will meet with their Korean fans at a two-day solo fan meeting on the 7th and 8th of next month at the Blue Square Woori WON Banking Hall in Seoul.
