Lotte Culture Works, a comprehensive content company, announced on the 13th, “Lotte Entertainment Vietnam has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with TOEI Co., Ltd. (TOEI), a leading Japanese film and content company, for the joint development and production of Vietnamese films.”

The company explained that this agreement was established to combine the content business capabilities of the three companies—from South Korea, Vietnam, and Japan—to build a foundation for cooperation in the joint production of Vietnamese films and to identify new business opportunities in the global market.

Under the agreement, the three companies plan to explore various business opportunities, including the joint development and production of Vietnamese films, as well as investment and distribution partnerships in both the local Vietnamese and global markets. They also intend to examine ways to produce Vietnamese-language films through the licensing and adaptation of each company’s intellectual property (IP).

Lotte Entertainment Vietnam is a local film investment and distribution company that has established a strong foothold in the Vietnamese film industry by releasing local box office hits such as *Blood Moon Party*, *Fury*, *Ma Ya*, and *The Last Wife*.

It is currently preparing various local film projects, including “Sister Sister 3,” “The Last Island,” and “The Last Bullet.” In addition, the company is pursuing the development of content across various genres, including “Saigon Oppa” (working title), directed by Park Kyu-tae of the film “6/45,” and the feature-length animated film “Thanh Giong,” inspired by a traditional Vietnamese folktale.

Toei is a leading Japanese film and video content company with a history spanning over 70 years, engaged in a wide range of businesses including the production and distribution of film and TV content. It has participated in the production of various content, ranging from globally renowned anime series such as “Dragon Ball,” “One Piece,” and “Slam Dunk” to “Kamen Rider” and “Super Sentai.”

Kim Jong-yeol, CEO of Lotte Cultureworks, said, “We are pleased to be collaborating with Toei on various projects currently under development with local Vietnamese creators,” adding, “We hope this agreement will serve as a meaningful starting point for cooperation among South Korea, Vietnam, and Japan, and that our collaboration will expand into various global business areas.”

Kim Jin-geun, Head of Lotte Entertainment Vietnam, remarked, “Vietnam is one of the most promising markets in Asia, thanks to its young audience and rapidly growing local film industry.” He continued, “Through our collaboration with Toei, we will unlock new possibilities for Vietnam’s diverse stories and strive to ensure that local films reach a broader global audience.”

Fumio Yoshimura, CEO of Toei, remarked, “It is meaningful to collaborate based on the close relationships that Lotte Cultureworks and Lotte Entertainment Vietnam have built locally.” He added, “We hope this partnership will serve as the foundation for long-term cooperation, enabling us to introduce Vietnam’s outstanding IP and audiovisual content to the global market.”
