On the 15th, Celltrion announced that it will participate in the “2026 European Society of Gastroenterology (UEG Week),” taking place from the 17th to the 20th (local time) in Barcelona, Spain. UEG Week is Europe’s leading academic conference in the field of gastroenterology. Last year, approximately 12,100 healthcare professionals from about 115 countries attended the event.
At this conference, Celltrion will operate a 200-square-meter standalone booth to showcase the competitiveness of its IBD products, including Remsima SC. Within the conference venue, the company will also host symposia and expert sessions (MTE) featuring leading global IBD experts to share long-term clinical evidence for Remsima SC and real-world clinical experience.
In particular, the company plans to showcase its entire Remsima formulation lineup—including the Remsima IV liquid formulation launched in Europe earlier this year, in addition to the existing Remsima IV and SC formulations—to highlight its differentiated competitive advantages. Furthermore, Celltrion plans to emphasize its ability to provide patients with a wider range of treatment options based on its broad portfolio of IBD therapies, such as Stekima and Uplima.
First, Celltrion will host a symposium on the 18th titled “Navigating the Treatment Journey with Subcutaneous Infliximab Across Clinical Scenarios.” The event will be moderated by Professor Peter M. Irving of King’s College London, a renowned expert in the field of IBD, and will feature leading scholars in the field as speakers.
The symposium will focus on clinical results and prescribing experiences with Remsima SC, highlighting various patient cases of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn’s disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC). Based on this, the event is expected to cover a wide range of patient-specific treatment strategies and clinical applications, from early treatment with Remsima SC to ongoing disease management.
At the Celltrion booth, two MTE sessions featuring leading global IBD experts will also be held. Professor Irina Blumenstein of Frankfurt University Hospital in Germany will present the evidence and treatment strategies for Remsima SC monotherapy based on real-world clinical data and experience. Dr. Jonata Fiorino of San Camillo-Forlanini Hospital in Italy will present case studies on the switch to Remsima SC in patients with Crohn’s disease and discuss its clinical role.
The product portfolio’s market share in Europe is also expanding. According to global market research firm IQVIA, Remsima IV and SC held a market share of approximately 71% in Europe during the first quarter of this year. Uplima recorded a market share of 24%. Celltrion plans to increase sales of its entire line of IBD treatments by leveraging its global direct sales network and the market position of its existing products.
Ha Tae-hoon, Head of the European Division at Celltrion’s Global Sales Business Unit, stated, “At this year’s UEG Week, we plan to present a wide range of clinical data and real-world prescribing experiences to actively communicate the value of Celltrion’s IBD treatments, including Remsima SC, to healthcare professionals worldwide,” he said. “Based on our differentiated product competitiveness, diverse treatment options, and the capabilities of our direct sales network, we will further expand our influence in the IBD market and establish ourselves as a trusted partner for healthcare professionals globally.”
