Revenue Up 460% Year-Over-Year
Cumulative Operating Profit Exceeds 60 Billion
New Orders Reach 456.3 Billion Through October
Gen6 Controller Sales at Year-End
[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyun-ah ] Data center semiconductor company FADU INC.(440110)has once again posted its best quarterly results to date, driven by growing demand for artificial intelligence (AI) data centers. Third-quarter revenue this year more than quadrupled compared to the same period last year, and the company returned to a significant operating profit. New orders through October amounted to approximately 4.9 times last year’s annual revenue.
FADU INC. announced on the 19th that its preliminary third-quarter revenue for this year totaled 143.6 billion won, with an operating profit of 36.3 billion won.
Revenue increased by 460% compared to 25.6 billion won in the same period last year. It also rose by 96% compared to the 73.2 billion won recorded in the previous quarter (Q2). Cumulative revenue through the third quarter reached 276.3 billion won, a 303% increase from the 68.5 billion won recorded in the same period last year.
Operating profit also returned to the black. While the company posted an operating loss of 11.4 billion won in the third quarter of last year, it recorded an operating profit of 36.3 billion won in the third quarter of this year. This represents a 124% increase from the second quarter’s operating profit of 16.2 billion won. Cumulative operating profit through the third quarter exceeded 60 billion won.
Order intake also showed strong performance. FADU INC. announced that, based on disclosures, new orders through October of this year totaled approximately 456.3 billion won. This is about 4.9 times last year’s annual revenue of 92.4 billion won.
However, order intake and revenue have different meanings. Order intake refers to the value of supply contracts signed with clients, while revenue is the amount recognized as income in accordance with accounting standards after fulfilling contractual obligations, such as product delivery. Therefore, not all new order intake will be recognized as revenue this year. The timing of actual revenue recognition varies depending on when products are delivered under the contract and the revenue recognition criteria. The speed at which future orders are converted into actual revenue will be key to future earnings growth.
FADU INC. is also accelerating the development of next-generation products in response to expanding AI infrastructure investments by global Big Tech companies and large-scale data center operators. The company has completed development of its 6th-generation (Gen6) products, which offer improved performance over its existing 5th-generation (Gen5) solid-state drive (SSD) controllers, and plans to begin full-scale sales by the end of the year. It is also developing 7th-generation (Gen7) products with the goal of supplying samples to customers by 2028.
The company is also expanding its business scope. In addition to its existing SSD controllers, power management integrated circuits (PMICs), and power loss protection integrated circuits (PLP ICs), it is broadening its product lineup to include high-speed signal processing solutions, which are becoming increasingly critical in AI servers.
At the “2026 OCP Global Summit” held in San Jose, California, on the 15th, the company unveiled its “File Semantic SSD (FS-SSD)” technology. Unlike conventional SSDs, which process data based on block addresses, this technology understands and manages data on a file-by-file basis.
The goal is to reduce the load on the server’s central processing unit (CPU) and lower power consumption and system costs by handling file searches, access permission checks, and file-to-address conversions within the SSD itself.
