[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyung-il ] #Wavice Inc., a company specializing in RF gallium nitride (GaN) semiconductors, announced on the 21st that it has signed a 5.1 billion won contract to supply components needed for the third phase of mass production of the domestically produced Light Armed Helicopter (LAH).

The LAH is a light armed helicopter developed with domestic technology to replace aging attack helicopters and is one of the key projects for modernizing the Army’s aviation capabilities. This third-phase mass production project aims to expand the deployment of the domestically produced light armed helicopter. Wavice Inc. will supply components, including frequency synthesizers, for 52 LAH helicopters in this third-phase production, and is expected to contribute to strengthening military capabilities and improving operational performance.

Wavice Inc. secured this contract based on its experience in the RF GaN-based module business and its track record in executing previous LAH mass production projects. The company has strengthened its supply base by building a track record in defense mass production projects—which require long-term, stable quality and delivery capabilities—and has secured orders for subsequent production batches through this contract.

The company also plans to participate in the upcoming fourth phase of the LAH mass production project. While pursuing medium- to long-term revenue growth through the LAH project, Wavice Inc. intends to expand its supply scope by strengthening cooperative relationships with defense contractors.

Wavice Inc. official stated, “We find it very meaningful that our project execution capabilities and supply competitiveness have been recognized by securing this third-phase mass production supply contract, following our participation in the existing LAH mass production project,” adding, “Based on our stable quality and supply capabilities, we will actively participate in the upcoming fourth-phase mass production project and further strengthen our business competitiveness in the domestic defense sector.”

Meanwhile, Wavice Inc. is expanding its business in cutting-edge defense sectors, such as radar, based on RF GaN semiconductor technology. The company is also striving to secure the domestic defense supply chain by localizing core components and enhancing its technological competitiveness.
