LEMON COMPANY LIMITED’s Price Hits Daily Limit; Company Also ‘Surprised’… “No Specific Reasons”
According to KG Zeroin MP Doctor (MP DOCTOR) on that day, LEMON COMPANY LIMITED closed at 3,825 won, up 880 won (29.88%) from the previous day. The company stated that it could find no specific reason to explain the sharp rise in its stock price.

A LEMON COMPANY LIMITED official said, “We, too, are quite surprised that the stock price rose to the daily upper limit today,” adding, “We understand that there are no specific issues that could be cited as the cause of the sharp rise.”

LEMON COMPANY LIMITED is pursuing the supply of smart hospital platforms overseas and the development of telemedicine services. Overseas, the company signed proof-of-concept (PoC) contracts this year for its “LemonCare” smart hospital platform with Hanoi Eye Hospital No. 2, Ha Tay General Hospital, and Hospital 22-12 in Vietnam. In Japan, the company has been discussing potential collaborations for the local implementation of a healthcare-insurance integration platform.

In the telemedicine sector, the company launched “LemonCare 7.0” last month—which integrates telemedicine and multidisciplinary collaboration features—and implemented it for the first time at the National Fire Service Hospital. The National Fire Service Hospital is operating a telemedicine service for follow-up patients in the Department of Mental Health for firefighters. Lemon Healthcare plans to expand the provision of this service to other medical institutions in the future.

However, these business initiatives have already been made public, and there appears to be no direct link to today’s sharp rise in the stock price. A LEMON COMPANY LIMITED official stated, “While there are ongoing projects related to overseas business and telemedicine, there does not seem to be any specific reason that would warrant today’s sharp rise in the stock price.”

G2GBIO, Inc.’s Connection to Novo Nordisk Highlighted… Expectations for ‘Big Pharma Contract’ Rise
On this day, G2GBIO, Inc. closed at 42,350 won, up 5,350 won (14.46%) from the previous day. It is believed that investor sentiment was influenced by a securities firm’s analysis suggesting that a technology evaluation agreement for a drug delivery platform—signed with Novo Nordisk’s Chinese partner—could lead to a future global technology transfer.

In a report titled “The Final Mock Exam Before a Big Pharma Deal” released today, Shinhan Investment Securities highlighted the commercialization potential of G2GBIO, Inc.’s long-acting drug delivery platform, “InnoLAMP.” On the 19th, G2GBIO, Inc. signed a technology evaluation agreement for its InnoLAMP platform with Chinese pharmaceutical company United Biotechnology (UBT). The agreement involves applying G2GBIO, Inc.’s microparticle formulation technology to candidate compounds provided by UBT to evaluate their performance, with a contract term of up to 12 months.

Market attention is focused on the fact that UBT has a collaborative relationship with the global pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk. Last March, Novo Nordisk secured exclusive development and commercialization rights for the obesity treatment candidate “UBT251” outside Greater China from UBT for up to $2 billion (including an upfront payment of $200 million). UBT251 is a triple-acting agent that simultaneously targets GLP-1, GIP, and glucagon receptors. Shinhan Investment Securities raised the possibility that UBT251 was included in this technology evaluation, but the actual compounds under evaluation were not disclosed due to confidentiality obligations.

Eom Min-yong, an analyst at Shinhan Investment Securities, stated, “If UBT, which holds the rights for Greater China, first confirms the potential for a one-month sustained-release formulation of Inolamp and proceeds to sign a definitive agreement, there is no reason for Novo, which possesses the same compound, not to adopt Inolamp.” He added, “This evaluation agreement will serve as a stepping stone toward definitive agreements with Novo and global pharmaceutical companies, and the likelihood of such agreements has never been higher.”

Previously, G2GBIO, Inc. presented results from animal studies showing that certain obesity treatment candidate compounds suppressed initial drug release and maintained drug concentrations for more than 28 days. However, this data was obtained during the preclinical stage.

CEO Lee Dong-ki: “Some technology transfer negotiations have progressed beyond the initial meeting stage”
On that day
,
Olix Pharmaceuticals, Inc.’s stock price closed at 107,100 won
,
up 9,500 won (9.73%) from the previous day. This was driven by heightened expectations for additional contract signings following news that technology transfer negotiations with a global pharmaceutical company are making progress.

It is believed that remarks regarding technology transfer negotiations, disclosed during an investor relations (IR) briefing for individual shareholders on the 19th, contributed to Olix Pharmaceuticals, Inc.’s stock price rise. At the briefing, Olix Pharmaceuticals, Inc. CEO Lee Dong-ki stated that the company is in discussions with multiple global pharmaceutical companies regarding platform technologies and individual pipelines, adding, “Some of these discussions have reached a stage that, if compared to a marriage, goes beyond the initial meeting between families.”

However, the specific pipelines where negotiations have progressed were not disclosed. An Olix Pharmaceuticals, Inc. official explained, “The remarks were made without singling out any specific pipeline,” adding, “There are several pipelines that have been mentioned as subjects of technology transfer discussions, including ‘OLX501A’ and ‘OLX301A.’”

OLX301A is an RNA interference (RNAi) drug candidate currently in development as a treatment for age-related macular degeneration. Although the company’s application for approval of a Phase 2a clinical trial in New Zealand was rejected on the 12th, the company clarified that this was due to a procedural communication error and did not affect the technology transfer negotiations. It plans to resubmit the clinical trial protocol later this month.

OLX501A, a candidate for the treatment of obesity, has demonstrated efficacy in reducing abdominal and visceral fat in non-human primate studies. During an investor relations briefing, the company announced that it had confirmed an additional 23% weight loss and the preservation of lean body mass when the drug was used in combination with a new target. Development is underway with the goal of submitting an Investigational New Drug (IND) application in the first half of next year. The company also emphasized the potential for expanding “OASIS-D,” a next-generation RNAi platform that simultaneously inhibits two genes, into the ophthalmology field.

Furthermore, Olix Pharmaceuticals, Inc. claimed that, with 211 billion won in cash and cash equivalents as of the end of June, it can continue R&D through 2030 without additional funding. Kim Young-jin, Executive Vice President of Finance at Olix Pharmaceuticals, Inc., emphasized, “Considering our current cash reserves and expenditure trends, we can maintain stable operations through 2030 without raising additional funds.”
