According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 28th, morning lows are expected to range from -2°C to 7°C, while daytime highs are forecast to be between 11°C and 17°C. These figures are lower than the seasonal averages (morning lows of 2–12°C and daytime highs of 16–21°C).
Due to the influence of cold air moving in from the northwest, morning temperatures across most of the country are expected to drop sharply by about 5 to 10 degrees compared to the previous day. Strong winds will also make it feel even colder. People should take care to manage their health in response to these sudden temperature changes.
In particular, morning temperatures are expected to drop below freezing in northeastern Gyeonggi Province, the inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon Province, North Chungcheong Province, and parts of the southern inland regions. Morning lows are forecast to range from -2 to 0 degrees in inland Gangwon, -4 to -3 degrees in the Gangwon mountains (Daegwallyeong, Taebaek), and 2 to 5 degrees along the Gangwon east coast. As ice and frost are expected, particularly in inland areas, care must be taken to protect crops.
Winds are expected to be strong in most parts of the country until the morning, with gusts reaching around 55 km/h, and around 70 km/h in mountainous areas. Strong winds may also persist until the morning in the southern regions, as well as along the Gangwon East Coast and in the Gangwon mountains.
High waves are expected to persist at sea. Strong winds and high waves are forecast for most maritime areas, including the central West Sea, the northern outer waters of the southern West Sea, the eastern outer waters of the South Sea, and the waters south of Jeju. In some parts of the East Sea, waves may reach heights of 5 meters or more.
The expected morning low temperatures for major cities are: △Seoul 2°C △Incheon 3°C △Chuncheon -1°C △Gangneung 4°C △Daejeon 1°C △Daegu 1°C △Jeonju 3°C △Gwangju (Buk-gu), South Jeolla Province 5°C △Busan 7°C △Jeju 11°C.
Daytime highs are forecast to be: △Seoul 13°C △Incheon 12°C △Chuncheon 13°C △Gangneung 13°C △Daejeon 13°C △Daegu 14°C △Jeonju 14°C △Gwangju, South Jeolla (Buk-gu) 15°C △Busan 17°C △Jeju 15°C.
