[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyun-ah ] Telecommunications equipment company Solid, Inc.(050890)has secured a 5G equipment supply contract worth 17.7 billion won in the large-scale North American infrastructure market.
Solid, Inc. announced on the 28th that, through its U.S. subsidiary SOLiD GEAR, it received a purchase order (PO) worth approximately $13.4 million (about 17.7 billion won) from Boldyn Networks, a global telecommunications infrastructure company. This amount represents about 6% of the company’s consolidated revenue from the previous year.
The equipment to be supplied is a distributed antenna system (DAS). This equipment delivers mobile communication signals to areas where radio waves have difficulty reaching, such as buildings or subways, and will be used in this project to build 5G networks at large infrastructure facilities across the United States.
Boldin Networks is a neutral network operator that builds and operates telecommunications infrastructure for transportation facilities, stadiums, and corporate facilities in North America and Europe. It supports telecommunications carriers by enabling them to share a single infrastructure.
Solid, Inc. has been supplying DAS equipment in partnership with Boldin Networks to the New York City Subway and the London Underground, among others. It remains to be seen whether this contract win will allow the company to build on its existing partnership and secure additional business opportunities in the North American market for large-scale public and corporate facilities.
