[Edaily Reporter Lee So-Hyun ] Naver (NAVER(035420)) has signed a $9 billion artificial intelligence (AI) factory computing infrastructure contract with global alternative investment firm Brookfield and finalized the specific business structure.
Naver announced on the 27th through a corrected disclosure regarding “Future Business and Management Plans” that the computing infrastructure contract had been finalized. The $9 billion computing service infrastructure required to build the AI Factory will be established through “Asset Co. (tentative name),” an asset-holding company to be formed by an investment vehicle of the Brookfield AI Infrastructure Fund.
On September 3, Bruce Flat (second from left), Chairman of Brookfield Corporation, and Park Jun-woo, CEO of Brookfield Korea, visited Naver 1784 in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, where they held follow-up discussions on the global AI Factory construction project with Naver Chairman Lee Hae-jin and Naver CEO Choi Soo-yeon.
