[Edaily Reporter Shin Yeong-bin ] Hancom is entering the U.S. market with “Nomadian,” a system where role-specific Agent AI agents work together as a team.
On the 29th, Hancom held “Nomadian Day” at Hancom Tower in Pangyo, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, where it unveiled its product lineup and global business strategy. Key executives, including CEO Kim Yeon-soo and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Jeong Ji-hwan, attended the event. Hancom’s AI Workforce Platform “Nomadian” (Photo: Hancom) Nomadian is an “AI workforce platform” where Agent AI specialists divide roles and responsibilities (R&R) to perform tasks. AI team members collaborate in a three-dimensional (3D) workspace, while “Ara,” the team leader, handles task allocation and result verification. Users make key decisions and can even create Agents AI as needed to assign specific tasks.
Hancom highlighted as a key differentiator that the AI does not merely provide answers in a chat window but delivers finished documents such as reports, spreadsheets, and slides. It utilizes the document-generation Agent AI “DSA” and its proprietary document engine. The vision is for Ara to learn the user’s work style and context while working alongside them, enabling it to proactively suggest necessary tasks.
The initial target market is sole proprietors and small businesses in the United States. Among these, Hancom has identified approximately 5.21 million businesses that already use AI or pay for paid AI services as its primary target market.
The U.S. expansion will be pursued in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS). Through the “CoLab” program, the two companies are working together over a 10-week period to refine the product and business model. They are applying Amazon’s “working backward” methodology—which designs products and businesses starting from customer needs—and refining the target customer base through interviews with U.S. customers.
Hancom plans to hold an event marking its U.S. launch on the 17th of next month at Amazon’s headquarters in Seattle, in the form of a meeting with AWS executives. In the first week of December, the company plans to issue a joint press release with AWS and launch a local beta service. It is also working to list its product in the Agent AI category on the AWS Marketplace and participate in local events.
The company has also secured partners to handle local marketing, operations, and customer support. VisualPix, a Chicago-based B2B technology agency, will handle marketing, while ClickIT, an AWS Advanced Tier Partner, will support 24-hour service operations. TaskUs, a customer experience (CX) company, will handle customer service through agents at its Texas center.
The company is also securing intellectual property rights for its core technologies. Last September, Hancom filed four domestic patent applications for technologies such as integrated agent status management and the visualization of the handover process for deliverables. For two technologies—one allowing agents to select and utilize necessary APIs—the company has filed international patent applications under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). Hancom also plans to file design patent applications for chat rooms and customer support spaces.
Hancom has set a target of 500,000 paying Nomadian customers by 2028. CEO Kim Yeon-soo stated, “The U.S. is just the starting point; since our stage is the global market, this is a conservative figure,” adding, “We are securing our core technologies with domestic and international patents to build a moat that latecomers cannot easily cross.”
