[Edaily Reporter Choi Hee-jae ] As the funeral for the late actor Choi Bul-am is being held under the auspices of the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, the final farewell ceremony will also take place at the Green Umbrella headquarters.

Hwang Young-ki, chairman of Green Umbrella, made this announcement on the 30th while visiting the late actor’s memorial hall at the Seoul Asan Hospital Funeral Home in Songpa-gu, Seoul.

The funeral schedule includes the encoffinment on November 1, followed by the funeral procession at 7:40 a.m. on November 2. A funeral Mass will then be held at Yeouido Cathedral around 9:00 a.m. At 10:40 a.m., a visit to the Green Umbrella headquarters in Mugyo-dong is scheduled. The burial site is Donghwa Gyeongmo Park.

Hwang Young-ki, President of Green Umbrella, will serve as the chair of the funeral committee. Former Prime Ministers Lee Soo-sung and Lee Nak-yeon, former National Assembly member Hong Moon-jong, Father Kim Seong-eun, Han Il-su, Secretary-General of the National Assembly Legislative Policy Research Association, Yang Ok-kyung, CEO of Green Umbrella, and executives from the Green Umbrella National Supporters’ Association will serve as members of the funeral committee.

Green Umbrella announced that it will set up a memorial space on the first floor of its headquarters and on its website so that citizens and supporters can pay their respects to the deceased.

Since being appointed chairman of the Green Umbrella National Supporters’ Association in 1985, Choi Bul-am had been at the forefront of efforts for children’s welfare for 41 years.

The late Choi Bul-am passed away around 10:00 p.m. on the 29th while receiving inpatient treatment at a hospital in Gangseo-gu, Seoul. He had undergone surgery for a herniated disc last March and was undergoing rehabilitation, but it is reported that his health recently deteriorated, leading to his passing.
