This campaign was designed to help small business owners expand their sales channels by combining delivery subsidies with YouTube content production and sales events.
As a follow-up to last year’s “10,000 Won Review” project, which introduced small and medium-sized food brands, this year’s initiative—titled the “National Project to Discover Hidden Gem Food Spots via Delivery”—held an open call for small food businesses nationwide.
The open call, which ran for about a month starting April 27, attracted applications from 226 companies nationwide. CJ LOGISTICS selected 27 companies based on product competitiveness and suitability for delivery, and provided them with delivery subsidies. Among these, 10 companies selected through a blind review received additional support in the form of YouTube promotional content production and sales events.
CJ LOGISTICS’ YouTube channel “Igeone” and the creator “Black and White Review,” who has 860,000 subscribers, participated in promoting the products. Through the series “Manager Oh’s Delivery Meal”—which features office workers enjoying a meal with food delivered via courier after work—the campaign introduced products from participating companies, such as kimchi stew, braised short ribs, and marinated crab. The content recorded a cumulative total of 4.28 million views.
Two companies that received particularly positive consumer feedback were also featured on “Black and White Review’s” main channel. A product sales event was held in conjunction with the video release. Ondam Food, one of the participating companies, reported that the campaign helped expand its reach to new consumers, resulting in a sales increase of approximately 600% compared to its previous average immediately following the campaign.
Kim In-soo, CEO of Ondam Foods, said, “We were so busy that even when I left work at 4 a.m., I didn’t even feel tired,” adding, “I’m grateful to CJ LOGISTICS for providing an opportunity to promote our products to more consumers and grow our business.”
He continued, “The most important factor when selling gejang online is safe and fresh delivery,” adding, “We are satisfied not only with the delivery quality but also with the fast and accurate communication from the branch in charge.”
CJ LOGISTICS also anticipates a “mutual growth” effect, where increased sales by small business owners lead to a rise in parcel volumes.
A CJ LOGISTICS official said, “We wanted to provide tangible sales opportunities to small business owners who, despite having excellent products, face growth challenges due to the burdens of promotion and logistics,” adding, “We will continue our win-win initiatives to grow alongside our clients by leveraging our nationwide logistics network and digital content capabilities.”
