INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD. Extends Autonomous Driving Verification Technology to Agricultural Machinery… Secures Contract for LS Mtron’s Tractor Business
Virtual Test Environment Established for Autonomous Tractor ‘MT9’
Repeated Verification of Driving and Farming Functions by Connecting to an Actual Controller
[Edaily Reporter KIM JI-WAN ] INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD.(274400)is expanding its virtual verification technology, developed in the automotive and defense sectors, to autonomous agricultural machinery. The company is building a system that allows for the testing of driving and operational functions in a virtual environment before actual tractors are deployed in farm fields.

INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD. announced on the 2nd that it has been awarded a contract to develop a HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) system environment for LS Mtron’s autonomous tractor, the “MT9.”
HIL is a verification method that connects actual hardware to a virtual test environment to verify operational performance. In this project, the tractor’s autonomous operation controller will be connected to the simulation environment. This will allow developers to verify that the controller operates appropriately under various conditions before testing on actual farmland.
INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD. plans to replicate the MT9’s driver’s seat and operating environment and apply a dynamic model that reflects the tractor’s driving characteristics and movements. This will enable developers to develop and test autonomous driving and operation control functions in a virtual environment without having to physically ride in the actual vehicle.
The scope of verification also includes the farmland and work environment where the tractor operates. The terrain and driving conditions of the farmland are implemented in the virtual space, and GPS-based location data is used to simulate the vehicle’s position and driving status. This establishes a foundation for conducting repeated tests while varying terrain and agricultural work conditions.
Autonomous agricultural machinery must consider not only the vehicle’s own movement but also the environment in which the work is performed. This system focuses on verifying control functions prior to actual equipment testing by jointly modeling tractor models and agricultural work environments.
INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD. has been developing simulators for automobiles, autonomous and unmanned vehicles, and off-road specialty vehicles. Based on technology that virtually reproduces the operating environment and movements of actual equipment and connects them to controllers and sensors, the company has expanded its application areas to include defense, military, and construction machinery.
Through this contract, the company plans to expand the scope of application for its physical AI verification technology into the agricultural machinery sector. It expects to support the development of the MT9 and improve product quality by establishing a system to pre-test autonomous operation functions in a virtual environment.
INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD. stated, “As autonomous, unmanned, and AI technologies become more advanced, the importance of infrastructure capable of pre-validating various situations that may arise in real-world environments is growing,” adding, “We will continue to advance our simulation technology to accelerate commercialization in the mobility and agricultural machinery sectors and contribute to enhancing product quality.”
