[Edaily Reporter JAEMIN SONG ] “To qualify for tax credits in the U.S., companies must meet the material content requirements for prohibited foreign entities (PFEs) in direct material costs. The permitted percentage is set to decrease from 40% this year to 35% or less next year, so we are preparing procurement strategies for each material to meet this requirement.
For cathode materials, we have secured a plan to source from multiple non-PFE suppliers in addition to the domestic company with which we recently signed a contract. We are also identifying additional suppliers for key materials such as anode materials, separators, and electrolytes.
“Going forward, we will strengthen supply chain stability by considering not only cost competitiveness but also global policies and geopolitical risks, while expanding our efforts to identify local partners and advance localization.”
