[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] On the 6th, independent research firm Value Finder analyzed that while YoungWoo DSP Co.,Ltd.(143540)has shown clear earnings growth—with cumulative operating profit for the first three quarters of this year surging more than tenfold year-over-year—its price-to-earnings ratio (PER) stands at just 3.1x, indicating that the stock has entered an extremely undervalued range. The firm also viewed positively the company’s expansion into the robotics and semiconductor sectors, building on its existing technological capabilities in display inspection equipment. No specific investment opinion or target price was provided.

Lee Chung-heon, CEO and analyst at Value Finder, stated in a report released today, “Cumulative consolidated revenue for the third quarter reached 66.6 billion won, a 44.6% increase year-over-year, while operating profit rose 970% to 8.1 billion won, marking a period of high growth,” adding, “Based on the last four quarters, the P/E ratio currently stands at 3.1x, indicating extreme undervaluation.”

YoungWoo DSP Co.,Ltd. is a company that primarily manufactures display inspection equipment. Cumulative revenue from display inspection equipment for the third quarter of this year reached 56.9 billion won, a 23.6% increase year-over-year. This segment accounts for 85.5% of total revenue.

The analyst noted, “This can be interpreted as a result of the company’s technological capabilities being recognized amid intensifying competition in the display market,” and added, “It is also worth noting that the company holds 25 billion won in cash and cash equivalents as of the third quarter, securing stability at a level equivalent to approximately 61% of its market capitalization.”

Business diversification is also gaining momentum. Building on the technological expertise accumulated through the manufacturing of display inspection equipment, YoungWoo DSP Co.,Ltd. has entered the markets for industrial autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and semiconductor inspection equipment.

In particular, the company signed a sales contract worth approximately 5.5 billion won for smart robot transport systems with J&S, a provider of customized smart manufacturing systems tailored to specific industrial sectors. Revenue from this contract has been reflected in full starting in the third quarter of this year, and the revenue share from robots and smart transport systems has expanded to 10.1%.

An analyst explained, “The company is expected to strengthen its market competitiveness by leveraging its know-how in manufacturing display inspection equipment to develop industrial mobile robots (AMRs) applicable to various industries, including logistics, production lines, and quality control,” adding, “Since the company has also secured its first order for semiconductor inspection equipment, this is an area where we can anticipate future results.”

In its existing core business, the expansion of capital expenditures by its major client, Samsung Display, is cited as a key growth driver. Samsung Display’s cumulative capital expenditures for the first three quarters of this year increased to 2.4 trillion won. The rise in investment is attributed to growing demand for premium organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panels, such as those used in high-performance monitors and automotive displays.

In particular, Samsung Display is credited with securing a technological edge over its competitors by being the first in the industry to stabilize the mass production yield for 8.6-generation OLED panels. Analysts suggest that, based on this competitive strength, further capital expenditures are highly likely in the future.

The analyst stated, “Samsung Display’s expansion of capital expenditures is interpreted as a strategy to solidify its competitive advantage in the premium market based on its yield gap,” adding, “The trend of increasing capital expenditures, including the expansion of the A7 line, is expected to continue.”

He added, “The expansion of investments by Chonbang customers can be viewed positively, as it ensures the continued stability and growth potential of YoungWoo DSP Co.,Ltd.’s core business.”

Although YoungWoo DSP Co.,Ltd. posted operating losses for three consecutive years from 2022 to 2024, the company successfully returned to profitability last year with revenue of 80.5 billion won and an operating profit of 5.9 billion won. This year, cumulative operating profit through the third quarter has already surpassed last year’s full-year results.

Profitability has also improved. The operating profit margin, which stood at 7.3% last year, rose to 12.1% on a cumulative basis through the third quarter of this year. Analysts note that, in addition to growth in the existing display equipment business, the robotics and semiconductor equipment businesses have begun to establish themselves as new revenue streams.

The analyst noted that the company’s enterprise value has not yet been fully reflected despite its earnings growth and business diversification. In particular, given that the price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio based on the results of the last four quarters remains at around 3.1 times, the analyst believes that future performance in new businesses and expanded capital expenditures by major clients could serve as catalysts for a revaluation of the stock price.
