[Edaily Reporter kim mi-kyung ] KYOCHON FOOD&BEVERAGE, the operator of Kyochon Chicken, posted strong third-quarter results, driven by robust demand during the summer peak season as well as growth in its global operations and new business ventures.

KYOCHON FOOD&BEVERAGE(339770)The company announced on the 6th that its consolidated revenue for the third quarter of this year was provisionally estimated at 144.5 billion won, a 6.9% increase compared to the same period last year. Operating profit for the same period rose 9.6% to 12.3 billion won.

Analysts attribute the improved performance to increased demand for chicken during the summer and aggressive marketing efforts. The company drove sales growth by combining the peak-season demand—such as during the “Boknal” (the hottest days of summer)—with the launch of new menu items, celebrity and sports marketing, and various promotions.

Overseas operations and new business ventures also contributed to this growth. The company’s overseas revenue base was strengthened as operations at global locations—including those in China and the U.S.—returned to normal and new store openings expanded. Additionally, Kyochon F&B stated that the expansion of its new restaurant brand, Memil Danpyeon, along with increased supply volumes in the alcoholic beverages and eco-friendly packaging sectors, had a positive impact on performance. In particular, operating profit recorded a growth rate approaching double digits as the profitability of overseas subsidiaries and major affiliates improved.

KYOCHON FOOD&BEVERAGE plans to continue new product promotions and marketing in the fourth quarter to meet year-end dining demand. The company will also focus on stabilizing the supply of raw materials and strengthening the competitiveness of its franchise business.

For its overseas business, the company will pursue new store openings in Japan in the first half of next year, while simultaneously expanding into new countries and increasing the number of stores in existing markets such as China and Southeast Asia. In the new business sector, the company plans to build infrastructure for the “Memil Danpyeon” franchise business and secure growth momentum through the development of new dining models and brands.

A representative from KKYOCHON FOOD&BEVERAGE stated, “We will focus on ensuring stable operations for our franchisees and improving customer satisfaction through a stable supply of raw materials and continuous enhancement of menu competitiveness.” The representative added, “While solidifying the foundation of our domestic franchise business, we will expand the growth base in our global and new business sectors and strive to improve medium- to long-term profitability through efficient cost management.”
