[Edaily Reporter Lee Hye-ra] #SG announced on the 8th that it held discussions with Ukrainian MP Andriy Nikolaenko, who is visiting South Korea, and domestic political and business leaders regarding post-war reconstruction projects and plans for economic cooperation between South Korea and Ukraine.
SG reported that a meeting was held on the 5th to discuss the adoption of South Korea’s advanced construction technology for Ukraine’s reconstruction projects.
The meeting was attended by SG CEO Park Chang-ho and Democratic Party of Korea lawmaker Song Young-gil, among others.
MP Nikolayenko stated, “I hope that advanced Korean technologies, such as Eco-Steel Ascon, will be actively applied to reconstruction projects during the post-war national rebuilding process.”
Unlike conventional asphalt, Eco-Steel Ascon is an eco-friendly asphalt that utilizes steel slag. It offers excellent noise and fine dust reduction effects, and with 5.04 times the durability of standard roads, it extends road life by 2.3 times and reduces pothole formation by 26.6%. It is one of SG’s core businesses.
Last year, MP Mykola Yenko attended the K-Road test paving alongside key officials, including Kyiv Governor Kalashnyk and Reconstruction Agency Head Shumolin, to personally review the EcoSteel Ascon production process and the technology for utilizing eco-friendly recycled resources.
CEO Park stated, “I understand that in Ukraine, which has many large steel mills, resolving the issue of processing the large volume of accumulated steel slag is also an urgent matter,” adding, “‘EcoSteelAscon,’ an eco-friendly road paving technology, is the optimal solution for Ukraine’s reconstruction and infrastructure investment.”
Meanwhile, SG reported that since last May, key Ukrainian politicians, including the Governor of Mykolaiv, have been visiting Korea on a regular basis to discuss post-war reconstruction projects. The company plans to complete the establishment of a local subsidiary and related preparations without delay, with the aim of launching full-scale post-war reconstruction projects at an appropriate time.
