[Edaily Reporter An Yu-ri ] Mgame Corp.(058630)has attracted 1 million pre-registrations for a new game based on the intellectual property (IP) of the online game “Guihon,” which it has operated for over 20 years. The game is currently in the final stages of development, with an official launch scheduled for November.
Mgame Corp. announced on the 6th that pre-registrations for its in-house title “Raising Ghosts” have surpassed 1 million.
It reached 500,000 pre-registrations just nine days after registration opened on August 11, and surpassed 800,000 in early September. Pre-registration will remain open on the company’s website, Google Play, the Apple App Store, and One Store until the game’s launch.
“Raising Ghosts” incorporates the classes, martial arts, regions, and monsters from the original game, which debuted in 2005, but replaces the traditional field-exploration structure with an idle gameplay system where players progress by clearing stages. The central storyline follows the protagonist, Tae Hwa-no-gun, as he regains the memories and martial arts he lost due to a disciple’s betrayal.
Mgame Corp. has been broadening the appeal to both fans of the original game and new users ahead of launch. The company released a main story trailer created using generative AI technology and held the “Ghost Soul Cosplay Challenge,” a user-participation event, for one month starting August 27.
Lee Jae-chang, Executive Director in charge of “Raising Ghosts,” stated, “Exceeding 1 million pre-registrations is thanks to both those who remember the original ‘Ghost’ and those who have shown new interest in it.” He added, “During the remaining period, we will conduct final checks on content and service stability to repay your patience with a level of polish worthy of your anticipation.”
