The term of the newly appointed outside director, Kang, begins today and lasts for three years. Director Kang has previously served in various roles, including as the head of the Defense Capabilities Division and the Military Innovation (RMA) Unit at the Ministry of National Defense; as an administrative officer in the Office of the Science and Technology Advisor and the Office of the Presidential Situation Room; and as a researcher and deputy director at the Agency for Defense Development (ADD).
Kim Tae-hoon, a former outside director, voluntarily resigned for personal reasons.
