[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon] #IronDevice announced on the 15th that it has been selected as a joint R&D institution for the “2026 Automotive Industry Technology Development (R&D)” national project, organized by the Korea Institute for Industrial Technology Planning and Evaluation (KITEP) under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
The project is titled “Development of Power Module Technology with Integrated Drive Circuits for Electric Vehicles.” The R&D period is 45 months, from April 1, 2026, to December 31, 2029. The development goal is to create a Full-Bridge 650V GaN Module with an integrated drive circuit.
The total project budget is 8.3407 billion won, with total government-funded R&D expenses amounting to 7.299 billion won. The government-funded R&D budget allocated to Iron Device is 1.35 billion won, representing 5.07% of its equity capital as of the end of the most recent fiscal year on a consolidated basis.
The lead R&D institution is Semipowerレックス, and Iron Device, along with the Seoul National University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, the Korea Automotive Technology Institute, the Korea Electronics Technology Institute, and the Hanyang University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, are participating as joint R&D institutions.
