[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyun-ah ] SKTelecom(017670)NVIDIA is accelerating its push into the public and financial AI markets after obtaining the government’s Cloud Security Certification (CSAP) for its latest Blackwell GPU-based AI data center infrastructure, the “Haein” cluster.

SKTelecom announced on the 6th that its “Haein” cluster—an AI data center infrastructure based on Blackwell GPUs—has obtained the Cloud Service Security Certification (CSAP) from the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA).

CSAP is a government-administered program that verifies the security of cloud services used by public institutions, and SKT has obtained certification in the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) category.

Notably, SKT is the first AI cloud service provider in South Korea based on NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs to obtain CSAP certification. The Haein Cluster is a large-scale AI computing infrastructure comprising more than 1,000 Blackwell GPUs configured into a single cluster.

This certification is particularly significant because it was granted for AI infrastructure currently in active operation. The Haein Cluster is currently being used as the training infrastructure for the government’s independent AI foundation model development project and has met public-sector security standards in its operational environment.

With this certification, SKT has laid the groundwork for expanding its AI cloud business in the public and financial sectors while meeting public cloud security requirements, such as network segregation and data isolation.

Industry observers note that as AI services rapidly spread to the public and financial sectors, security certification has effectively become a prerequisite for market entry; therefore, they view this certification as an opportunity to enhance the competitiveness of SKT’s AI infrastructure business.

Furthermore, by securing core infrastructure to support the government’s independent AI model development project, SKT has strengthened its position within the domestic Sovereign AI ecosystem. Sovereign AI refers to an AI system that a nation builds and operates independently based on its own data and infrastructure.

Kim Myung-guk, Head of the AI Factory Business at SKT, stated, “The Haein Cluster has become the first Blackwell GPU-based AI cloud to obtain CSAP certification, thereby gaining recognition for its competitiveness in sovereign AI infrastructure,” adding, “We will continue to expand our role in the public AI infrastructure market.”
