[E-Daily Reporter KIM JI-WAN ] Geninus ( GENINUS Inc.(389030)) announced on the 7th that its Japanese subsidiary, GxD, has signed an additional contract with a Japanese pharmaceutical company related to its platform.

This agreement involves a project to apply GENINUS Inc.’s genomic data analysis capabilities and AI-based new drug development platform to the Japanese pharmaceutical company’s actual new drug development efforts. Through this collaboration, GENINUS Inc. plans to secure additional use cases for its new drug development platform with pharmaceutical companies and expand business development opportunities based on the platform in the Japanese market.

The solution applied under this agreement is GENINUS Inc.’s proprietary AI-based drug discovery platform, which combines patient-derived multimodal data—including clinical information—with AI technology to increase the likelihood of success in drug development. By going beyond traditional expression-level analysis to integrate real-world patient data and biological processes, it significantly reduces the uncertainty in decision-making during the early stages of drug development.

In particular, GENINUS Inc. can provide tailored solutions to meet a wide range of pharmaceutical companies’ R&D needs, from new target discovery to target prioritization, mechanism-of-action analysis, and the formulation of preclinical biomarker strategies. Leveraging these strengths, GENINUS Inc. is rapidly expanding the scope of its collaboration to include target selection, patient population definition, and biomarker hypothesis generation—all essential for the development of next-generation anticancer modalities such as ADCs, TCEs, and bispecific antibodies.

This agreement is also significant as it represents an additional project signed by GxD, GENINUS Inc.’s local Japanese subsidiary, with a Japanese pharmaceutical company. GxD is expanding its network with pharmaceutical and biotech clients in Japan while integrating GENINUS Inc.’s data and AI capabilities to establish a collaborative model that addresses the needs of Japanese pharmaceutical companies.

Recently, demand within the global pharmaceutical industry to utilize real-world patient data and AI-based analysis technologies to increase the success rate of new drug development has been growing rapidly. In particular, as it has become increasingly difficult to establish differentiated new drug development strategies using only previously known targets, the importance of platform technologies capable of proactively identifying promising new targets and target combinations is growing.

The industry recognizes that GENINUS Inc.’s clinical-linked data and AI-based new drug development platform align with these market shifts. Leveraging its proprietary datasets and AI analysis capabilities, GENINUS Inc. focuses on interpreting disease characteristics and treatment responses by cancer type and translating these insights into target and biomarker strategies applicable to the new drug development process.

GENINUS Inc. representative stated, “This agreement is a meaningful collaboration that confirms the technical applicability of our platform to the actual R&D projects of a Japanese pharmaceutical company,” adding, “Through GxD, we are expanding our engagement with local Japanese pharmaceutical companies and strengthening the foundation for our platform’s use in the global R&D arena.”

The representative continued, “GENINUS Inc.’s platform is not merely a data analysis tool, but a platform that supports critical decision-making in the early stages of new drug development,” adding, “We plan to expand our collaboration with global pharmaceutical companies, including those in Japan, to continuously create opportunities for joint research, target discovery, biomarker development, and technology commercialization.”
