KTCorporation announced that starting on the 7th, it will begin distributing “Gyarados Promo Cards” to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Pokémon at 520 T World stores nationwide and at the T Factory in Seongsu-dong, Seoul.
This event is a follow-up promotion to the “Pokémon Run Online Challenge” held by Pokémon Korea last June. All 110,000 participants who completed the 1-kilometer running mission via the running app “RunDay” are eligible to receive the reward. SKT, which possesses a nationwide offline infrastructure, is serving as the distribution point for the rewards.
“Online Reservation System” Introduced to Reduce Crowding… Operates Through August 31
SKT is introducing an “online advance reservation system” to prevent bottlenecks caused by large crowds gathering at once. The redemption period runs for approximately two months, from July 7 to August 31.
To claim the reward, fans simply need to follow the link in the notification text message to select their preferred T World store or T Factory and specify a visit date before visiting.
SKT has redecorated 520 stores nationwide with a Pokémon theme for fans visiting to claim their rewards. Depending on the store’s characteristics, exteriors have been decorated with Magikarp and Gyarados characters, and photo zones have been set up. The company is also holding a giveaway event where visitors can receive Pokémon keychains, WOOYANG CO., LTD. parasols, and handheld fans.
“T Factory,” a multi-purpose cultural experience space located in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, will operate as the “Pokémon Mini Forest” through the end of August. Sculptures of popular characters, including Pikachu, have been installed, allowing visitors to experience the Pokémon universe firsthand. Admission is free for everyone, even those who did not win the rewards. During the event period, SKT customers visiting T Factory will receive free luggage storage service and one complimentary drink in the lounge (including one companion).
Koo Hyun-cheol, Head of the Sales & Marketing Division at SKTelecom, said, “We’ve not only made it convenient for reward recipients to receive their promo cards, but we’ve also prepared the joy of encountering Pokémon throughout T World stores.” He added, “We will continue to make T World a fun place people want to visit through promotions that offer customers unique and exciting experiences.”
