[Edaily Starin YUN GI BACK Reporter] “Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub,” the finale of the “Tazza” series based on the comic of the same name by artist Heo Young-man, has been confirmed for release in theaters this September during the Chuseok holiday. Following 2006’s “Tazza,” 2014’s “Tazza: The Hand of God,” and 2019’s “Tazza: One-Eyed Jack,” this film marks the series’ grand finale and promises a significantly expanded universe that moves beyond traditional Korean card games to encompass online casinos and the global poker market.

According to distributor CJ ENM on the 9th, “Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub” is a crime thriller depicting the brutal revenge of Jang Tae-young (Byeon Yo-han), who believed he had it all through the online casino business but had everything taken away by his best friend Park Tae-young (Noh Jae-won)—who shares his name—and the two face off again on the global gambling stage.
The teaser poster released that day prominently features the film’s central “rivalry.” The tense standoff between Jang Tae-young and Park Tae-young—who share the same name but lead completely different lives—creates an intense sense of suspense. The tagline, “The friend I trusted most became my cruelest opponent,” succinctly captures the story intertwined with friendship, betrayal, and revenge.
The poster also features key characters who heighten anticipation, including Kaneko (Ayaka Miyoshi), who orchestrates the global gambling scene; Jo Jung-hwan (Yoon Kyung-ho), who upends Jang Tae-young’s fate; and Kwak Dong-wook (Jo Woo-jin), the legendary card shark who teaches poker skills.
The rival trailer, unveiled alongside it, hints at the series’ largest gambling ring to date. Set against the backdrop of a global poker circuit spanning Korea, Japan, and Vietnam, the tense relationship between two characters—who have gone from best friends to rivals forced to bring each other down—unfolds with intense drama.
In the trailer, Jang Tae-young’s resolute gaze as he clutches poker chips and Park Tae-young’s line—“You can’t understand someone who’s lived off luck”—leave a powerful impression. It hints at a fateful showdown between two men where pride, desire, and revenge are intertwined, going far beyond a simple game of chance.
Additionally, the series achieves its first-ever global scale with the addition of international actors such as Ayaka Miyoshi, Hong Dao, and Tsuyoshi Ihara. A solid supporting cast, including Jo Woo-jin, Yoon Kyung-ho, and Moon Ji-hoon, lends further depth, promising an even more immersive viewing experience.
In particular, this installment draws attention for expanding the setting from traditional Korean card games to the global poker scene while maintaining the identity of the existing “Tazza” series. While preserving the series’ signature psychological warfare and strategic mind games where players think one step ahead, the addition of new elements—such as online casinos and the international gambling market—is expected to deliver a different kind of tension compared to previous installments.
