Kang Jin-hyuk, a senior researcher at Shinhan Investment Securities, said, “As AI cycle-related noise subsides following a series of investment news from companies like Meta—which had previously raised doubts about capital expenditures—rebound buying is flowing in,” adding, “With supply and demand conditions easing, buying momentum is spreading, with about 90% of stocks in both markets rising.” He continued, “News that Meta will begin mass-producing its own AI chips in September to secure 14 gigawatts (GW) of computing power next year demonstrates that the computing power sales are not driven by excess resources but by capacity shortages, which in turn highlights the high profitability of the leasing business.” The securities industry analyzes that the mechanical selling pressure from the National Pension Service—which had been identified as a source of market instability during the recent stock market plunge—has eased significantly. Yeom Seung-jun, an analyst at Meritz Securities, stated, “As of the closing price on the 8th, the National Pension Service’s allocation to domestic stocks stood at 26.3%. Although it had risen from 29.9% at the end of May to 31.1% on the 22nd of last month—exceeding the permitted range (28.8%)—the recent decline has brought it back within the Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) range,” and “The National Pension Service’s mechanical selling pressure is expected to ease,” he explained.
