[Edaily Reporter JAEMIN SONG ] LGELECTRONICS continued its earnings growth in the third quarter of this year by expanding its home appliance subscription and business-to-business (B2B) operations. Its existing core businesses—home appliances and automotive components—maintained stable profitability, while the TV business also saw improved performance. In particular, the expansion of new businesses is gaining momentum as orders for artificial intelligence (AI) data center cooling solutions surpassed 3 trillion won.

LGELECTRONICS announced on the 28th that it recorded third-quarter revenue of 23.8241 trillion won and operating profit of 781.9 billion won on a consolidated basis. These figures represent year-over-year increases of 8.9% and 13.5%, respectively. Cumulative revenue for the first three quarters of this year reached 71.3778 trillion won, and operating profit stood at 4.0347 trillion won, up 9.2% and 55.9%, respectively. This marks the first time cumulative operating profit for the first three quarters has exceeded 4 trillion won.

Last year, LGELECTRONICS saw its annual operating profit decline by 27.5% year-over-year due to U.S. tariffs and a slowdown in global demand for home appliances. This year, the company is on track to recover profitability, driven by expanded sales of premium products, improvements in its cost structure, and growth in its automotive components business. However, third-quarter operating profit fell short of market expectations and decreased by 50.5% compared to the previous quarter.

LGELECTRONICS has recently been focusing on transforming its business structure toward subscriptions and B2B. While its performance was previously heavily dependent on product sales volume, the company is now expanding a model that generates revenue through services and maintenance.

Third-quarter revenue from the subscription business reached 760 billion won, an 8.6% increase year-over-year. B2B revenue also rose 3.4% to 6.1 trillion won. LGELECTRONICS is expanding its home appliance subscription business to the Middle East, following its launch in Asian markets.

The Home Solutions (HS) Business Division posted revenue of 7.0444 trillion won and an operating profit of 259.2 billion won. Thanks to a strategy targeting both the premium and mid-to-low-end markets simultaneously, revenue has exceeded 7 trillion won for two consecutive quarters.

The Media & Entertainment (MS) Business Division, which handles TVs and other products, posted revenue of 5.0215 trillion won and an operating profit of 146.7 billion won. Sales of premium products, such as OLED TVs, and expansion into Shinhung markets drove the improvement in performance.

The Vehicle Solutions (VS) Business Division achieved record-high third-quarter results in both revenue and operating profit, posting 2.8261 trillion won in revenue and 190.3 billion won in operating profit. The vehicle solutions business, which the company has been cultivating as a future growth engine, is now established as a stable source of revenue as it converts its order backlog into sales and profits.

Cumulative orders for the AI data center cooling solutions business surpassed 3 trillion won in the third quarter. This represents more than a fivefold increase from the approximately 600 billion won recorded in the first half of the year. It is noteworthy that this business, which has been cultivated as a future growth engine, has entered a phase of securing large-scale orders.

LGELECTRONICS is investing an additional 220 billion won to expand its production capacity both domestically and internationally, including securing a production base in the United States. The Eco Solutions (ES) Business Division, which handles heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), recorded third-quarter revenue of 2.1736 trillion won and operating profit of 87.2 billion won. While overseas sales of commercial HVAC systems increased, costs associated with expanding new businesses partially impacted profitability.

In the robotics business, the country’s largest data factory has begun partial operations. LGELECTRONICS is simultaneously building infrastructure for the mass production of actuators and pursuing orders from global clients.

An LGELECTRONICS spokesperson stated, “We plan to continue pursuing our growth strategies—including B2B, subscriptions, and online channels—in the fourth quarter as well,” adding, “We will respond to changes in the external environment by diversifying our supply chain and improving operational efficiency.”
