[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyun-ah ] As “taste-driven consumption”—where consumers deeply enjoy content within specific genres—continues to spread, LG HelloVision is launching a customized VOD (video-on-demand) service targeting trot fans.
LG HelloVision(037560)The company announced on the 13th that it has launched “Trot Choice,” a monthly subscription plan on its cable TV service, Hello TV, that offers unlimited access to popular trot content.
“Trot Choice” is a content package specialized in the trot variety genre, designed to appeal to middle-aged and older viewers who form a loyal fan base. For 5,000 won per month (excluding VAT), subscribers can freely watch TV Chosun’s flagship trot programs and related content.

The service includes everything from the first seasons of *Miss Trot* and *Mr. Trot*—which sparked a trot craze in South Korea—to the latest episodes. It brings together not only the main competition shows but also spin-off content like *Miss Trot for You*, as well as music, performance, and variety programs, catering to trot fans’ desire to binge-watch.
User convenience has also been enhanced. Customers can easily subscribe using their remote control via the Hello TV VOD menu and start watching content immediately. Additionally, users can watch trot content continuously without a separate search process by tuning to dedicated channel 131 on their set-top box.
In particular, the company explains that it has created an intuitive user interface to ensure easy access even for senior users who are not accustomed to using digital devices.

LG HelloVision has been expanding its services targeting consumers of specific genres, such as its previously launched Chinese drama-focused package. “Trot Choice” is the company’s second genre-specific package aimed at fans with high loyalty to a particular genre.
Subscribers can watch previously aired programs unlimitedly immediately upon signing up, while the latest content—such as “Friday Fever,” “Miss Trot For You,” and “Chronicles of the Trot Queens”—will be made available sequentially in the dedicated section one week after their original broadcast.
A launch celebration event is also underway. All new subscribers signing up by the end of this month will receive 5,000 won in TV Coins—redeemable like cash on Hello TV—and will be entered into a drawing to win a chicken meal coupon.
Hong Won-deok, Executive Vice President of LG HelloVision (Head of the Consumer Group), said, “We will continue to expand genre-specific services that reflect the tastes of specific fan bases and strengthen Hello TV’s unique VOD experience.”
