[Edaily Reporter KIM SAE-MI ] Genome&Company(314130)has acquired a controlling stake in Allbloom, a U.S. exporter and distributor of K-Beauty brands. This move is aimed at expanding the U.S. brick-and-mortar market presence of its own skincare brand, “UIQ.”
Genome&Company CI (Photo: Genome&Company) Genome&Company announced on the 26th that it has acquired a 64.46% stake in Allbloom and secured management control through Bloom Partners, a wholly-owned subsidiary established this month.
Allbloom is a company responsible for the U.S. exports and local distribution of Korean cosmetics brands. It has established business relationships with major U.S. retailers such as Target and MINISO, and handles local sales, import/export operations, logistics, and inventory management.
Allbloom’s revenue last year was approximately 23 billion won, a 29.6% increase from the previous year (17.8 billion won). Approximately 63% of last year’s revenue came from exports.
Genome&Company plans to expand into new brands and sales channels while maintaining cooperative relationships with All Bloom’s existing clients and distribution partners. Additionally, it will leverage All Bloom’s local distribution network to facilitate the entry of its own skincare brand, Uik, into the U.S. brick-and-mortar market.
Yuik is a microbiome-based skincare brand launched by Genome&Company in 2021. It has expanded sales primarily in South Korea and Japan, with revenue increasing by 50% from approximately 8 billion won in 2024 to approximately 12 billion won last year.
Uik entered the U.S. online market last May by opening an official brand store on Amazon. Following this acquisition, the company plans to pursue entry into major U.S. brick-and-mortar retail channels.
Genome&Company expects that leveraging Allbloom’s existing buyer network and logistics and inventory management infrastructure will reduce the time and costs required to build a separate local distribution organization.
Bae Ji-soo, CEO of Genome&Company, stated, “This acquisition is a strategic decision to secure a distribution foothold in the U.S. K-Beauty market and expand Uique’s global growth opportunities,” adding, “We will accelerate Uique’s entry into the U.S. brick-and-mortar market by leveraging Allbloom’s local distribution network.”
