[Edaily Reporter Park Jung-Soo ] EXA E&C, Inc(054940)announced on the 14th that it has signed a contract with SAMSUNG C&T CORPORATION for “P5 Ph1 Water Treatment Plant Construction Section 1” at the SamsungElectronics Pyeongtaek Campus. The contract is worth 89 billion won, marking the company’s largest single contract award since its founding. The contract period runs through October 31, 2027. The company expects that this contract win will expand its opportunities to participate in subsequent projects, such as Phases 2–4 (Ph2–Ph4) of the P5 project and the mixed-use building. Following its work on the P2 and P4 production facilities at SamsungElectronics’ Pyeongtaek Campus, EXA E&C, Inc. will now undertake the P5 project. Building on this, the company plans to expand its business into the advanced infrastructure market, including not only the SamsungElectronics Pyeongtaek Campus but also the Yongin Advanced System Semiconductor Cluster National Industrial Complex, the government-led Southwest Region Semiconductor Cluster, and artificial intelligence (AI) data centers. SamsungElectronics’ Pyeongtaek Campus is the world’s largest semiconductor production base among single production sites. SamsungElectronics has been gradually expanding its production facilities from P1 to P4, and is expected to establish a next-generation semiconductor production system centered on P5. P5 is planned as a “Fab Twin”—a larger-scale version of existing production facilities—and the company anticipates that demand for related infrastructure construction will also increase. EXA E&C, Inc. has accumulated construction experience in cleanrooms and advanced manufacturing infrastructure while working on the Pyeongtaek semiconductor production facilities. During the construction process, the company’s safety and quality management capabilities were recognized, including the achievement of “3 STAR,” the highest rating under SAMSUNG C&T CORPORATION’s safety certification system. Since last year, the company has also been participating in the construction of the first-phase fab at SK hynix’s Yongin Semiconductor Cluster. As plans are underway to build four fabs at the Yongin Cluster by 2033, the company anticipates additional opportunities to secure contracts. Kim Seong-hu, CEO of EXA E&C, Inc., stated, “We plan to use this P5 project as an opportunity to further strengthen our competitiveness in cleanroom construction and, based on the technical expertise and execution experience accumulated during the construction of semiconductor production facilities, expand into various business areas related to production facilities.” He added, “We will establish ourselves as a key partner in the construction of cutting-edge infrastructure, such as semiconductors and AI data centers, to lay the foundation for sustained growth.”
