[Edaily Reporter Minji Son ] Raycell, a subsidiary of Ray Co., Ltd.(228670), is launching “RYZN,” a skincare brand utilizing extracellular matrix (ECM). The company plans to apply ECM materials—commonly used in cosmetic procedures—to cosmetics to target the home care needs of consumers who have experienced professional treatments.

Ray Co., Ltd. announced on the 28th that it will officially launch RYZN and begin selling three products—ampoules, creams, and masks—through its online store. All are functional cosmetics designed to reduce wrinkles and brighten the skin.

RYZN aims to be a “topical ECM” brand that brings ECM—previously limited to the field of cosmetic procedures—into everyday skincare.

The extracellular matrix (ECM) is a substance that supports tissue around cells and is composed of various components such as collagen and elastin. Rizen uses decellularized extracellular matrix (dECM)—which removes cellular components from the tissue while retaining structural components—as its core ingredient. This material is exclusively supplied by Seratgen, a biomaterials company specializing in organoid culture technology.

The launch of Rizen aligns with shifts in the aesthetic medicine market. Analysts note that interest is broadening from a market once centered on toxins and fillers to skin boosters—such as exosomes and polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN)—and now to ECM-based treatments. This shift from simply adding volume to improving skin structure is seen as aligning with consumer preferences that prioritize naturalness and longevity.

Raycell’s target customer base consists of people in their 30s to 50s who have experience with professional aesthetic procedures. The company has focused primarily on consumers who wish to care for their skin at home after a procedure or continue their daily skincare routine until their next treatment. The strategy is to differentiate the brand from existing anti-aging cosmetics by positioning ECM as its core ingredient.

Oh Taek-jin, CEO of Raycell, stated, “What sets Raycell apart is that we possess both proprietary ingredients and delivery technology,” adding, “We plan to actively expand into the global market to serve overseas customers who are highly interested in K-Aesthetics.”
