[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] Y-OPTICS MANUFACTURE Co., Ltd.(066430), a company specializing in gear reducer design and engineering, has resolved risks related to a management control dispute and is moving to expand into new businesses such as robotics and anti-drone technology.

I-ROBOTICS announced on the 14th that, at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders held on the 13th, the company’s largest shareholder—who had previously expressed disagreements regarding the company’s business direction—and one candidate for an executive director voluntarily announced their intention to step down, resulting in the withdrawal of the relevant agenda items.

The company explained that this decision has resolved the uncertainty surrounding the management control dispute that had been raised.

In addition, the extraordinary shareholders’ meeting approved, as proposed, partial amendments to the articles of incorporation aimed at securing new growth engines. The newly added business objectives include: △ the manufacture, sale, and development of microwave radars; △ the manufacture and sale of microwave transceivers and related components; △ frequency-based telecommunications business; △ wholesale and retail of radar equipment; △ technology development, production, and sale of information and communications and information security systems; △ the manufacture and sale of electronic telecommunications equipment components; and △ the development and manufacture of robotic and unmanned automation systems.

The company explained that this amendment to the articles of incorporation is a strategic measure aimed at expanding its business through future collaboration with affiliates in the aviation and defense sectors. In particular, it emphasizes that this move lays the groundwork for entering the anti-drone market, which is growing rapidly in the global security and defense sectors.

It will also ramp up its existing robot gearbox business. The company announced that it is preparing to begin mass production of ultra-compact robot gearboxes and, having secured an initial order worth $150,000 through a design engineering contract with a Chinese foundry, is currently pursuing additional orders. Through this, the company plans to grow into a specialized firm with cost competitiveness, based on its strategy as the only robot gearbox foundry in Korea.

An I-ROBOTICS official stated, “Now that the uncertainty surrounding the management dispute has been resolved, we will focus our efforts on the company’s substantive growth and enhancing shareholder value,” adding, “We will achieve tangible results by fully launching the robot gearbox business while simultaneously expanding our business scope into the anti-drone sector.”
