[E-Daily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] T&R Biofab ( T&R Biofab Co., Ltd(246710)), a company specializing in regenerative medicine, reported a 46% year-over-year increase in revenue for the first half of this year, driven by expanded sales of its biosurgical products and strong performance from its subsidiaries.
T&R Biofab Co., Ltd announced on the 14th that its preliminary consolidated revenue for the first half of the year was 18.3 billion won, a 46% increase from the same period last year. Consolidated revenue for the second quarter was 9.5 billion won, up more than 9% from the previous quarter. The company explained that this growth was driven by the full-scale expansion of its extracellular matrix (ECM)-based biosurgical solutions business, as well as strong performance from the freeze-dried ball cosmetic business of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Blisspack.
Growth in the biosurgical division was particularly notable. T&R Biofab Co., Ltd.’s second-quarter standalone revenue was 3.7 billion won, up 125% year-over-year and 35% quarter-over-quarter. Improved performance was driven by expanded sales of the composite hemostatic agent “Hemofix,” the wound dressing “Reprofoam,” and the acellular dermal matrix (ADM) product line.
Leveraging its ECM development and manufacturing technology based on decellularization, the company continues to expand its biosurgical product portfolio, which includes wound care products, hemostatic agents, and bone and tissue reconstruction grafts.
Its subsidiary, Blisspack, also maintained a steady growth trend. Blisspack’s preliminary first-half revenue reached 11.8 billion won, a 25% increase compared to the same period last year. The company explained that, backed by its ODM and OEM capabilities and a monthly production capacity of 4 million units, it has expanded business with major clients, leading to continued repeat orders and new contracts.
In the second half of the year, the outcome of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) marketing authorization application for “TnR CFI (Cranio Facial Implant),” a 3D-printed biodegradable artificial scaffold, is expected to serve as a key growth driver.
The company submitted its final response to the FDA’s request for additional information this month and expects approval results as early as the beginning of next month. Upon obtaining FDA approval, the company plans to use the U.S. market as a springboard to accelerate its expansion into global markets, including Central and South America and Asia.
A T&R Biofab Co., Ltd official stated, “BlissPack has served as a stable cash cow for the company since last year,” adding, “We plan to expand synergies in the medical beauty market by combining our ECM technology with BlissPack’s high-performance cosmetics technology.”
