(#SHINSEGAE I&C Technology Co., Ltd.) will supply Meta’s artificial intelligence (AI) glasses through its domestic online and offline channels. Following the Meta Quest, the company is expanding its product lineup to include AI glasses, thereby strengthening its collaboration with Meta in the DEVICE business.
Shinsegae I&C Technology Co., Ltd., as the exclusive distributor of Meta’s device lineup, announced that it will begin distributing “Ray-Ban Meta” and “Oakley Meta” in South Korea starting on the 22nd. Meta AI Glasses are smart glasses introduced through a collaboration between Meta and EssilorLuxottica, a global eyewear company that owns brands such as Ray-Ban and Oakley.
Shinsegae I&C Technology Co., Ltd. will supply the products to major domestic online and offline channels, excluding Ray-Ban and Oakley’s own sales channels.
Shinsegae I&C Technology Co., Ltd. has built up its distribution network capabilities through its role as the domestic master distributor for devices from global companies such as Google. Building on its experience in discovering and distributing next-generation technology-based products like Starlink, the company plans to expand its portfolio to include Meta AI Glasses, following its role as the master distributor for the mixed reality (MR) headset “Meta Quest.”
Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta are wearable devices that combine camera and audio features with Meta’s interactive AI assistant, “Meta AI.”
Users can check information about their surroundings by summoning the AI via voice commands while wearing the glasses. They can also use features such as taking photos and videos, listening to music, making calls, and real-time translation.
Shinsegae Co.,Ltd. is selling three models from the second-generation Ray-Ban Meta lineup—Wayfarer, Headliner, and Skyliner—for 690,000 won. The Oakley Meta Vanguard is priced at 900,000 won.
The products will be available starting on the 22nd at ElectroMart locations within E-MART Co., Ltd. stores nationwide, LOTTE Himart, SSG.com, and the online stores of the three major mobile carriers—SKTelecom, KTCorporation, and LG Uplus—as well as at select retail outlets.
