[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] BIOLOG DEVICE CO., LTD(208710)is trading at its daily price limit amid expectations that the company will enter the next-generation cooling solutions business based on all-solid-state thermoelectric devices.
According to MP Doctor on the 28th, as of 9:20 a.m. today, PHOTON is trading at 2,340 won, up 30.00% from the previous trading day.
This surge in buying interest is believed to stem from an assessment by independent research firm ARIS, which noted that PHOTON has the potential to enter the next-generation thermal management market based on its quantum precision-control-based ultra-precision cooling technology.
ARIS researchers Lee Jae-mo and Jeong Min-hee stated in a company analysis report published today, “Building on its existing business in smartphone camera module components, PHOTON is pursuing new ventures targeting the thermal management market, which has emerged as a key challenge in the artificial intelligence (AI) data center, electric vehicle, and semiconductor industries.”
PHOTON is a company that primarily produces flexible printed circuit board assemblies (FPCB Assy) for smartphone camera modules. It is currently fostering new business ventures by pursuing a strategic investment in EdgeQ, which is developing next-generation ultra-precision cooling technology based on quantum precision control.
The all-solid-state thermoelectric device currently being developed by EdgeQ is a technology that uses electric current to directly transfer heat without a refrigerant. Since it does not require a compressor or piping, it is advantageous for miniaturization and low power consumption. Additionally, with its silent and vibration-free characteristics, it can be applied to various fields such as electric vehicles, AI data centers, semiconductors, and industrial equipment.
Aris assessed that EdgeQ has secured key patents related to next-generation thermoelectric materials and is building a materials platform that can be utilized not only for cooling but also for waste heat recovery and power generation.
Researcher Lee and his colleagues stated, “As the AI era gains momentum, thermal management technology is establishing itself as a core infrastructure across all industries,” adding, “Based on its core material technology and patent competitiveness, PHOTON is securing growth potential in the next-generation thermal management market.”
