[Edaily Reporter Yun Junghoon ]LG HelloVision(037560)announced on the 21st that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Seoul and Busan Viewers’ Media Centers, Dongguk University, and DONGSUH University to foster the “Local Editor Crew,” a group of young video creators dedicated to uncovering the hidden charms of their regions.

This agreement represents a collaboration model involving industry, academia, and local media, with participation from cable TV, local media organizations, and universities. The initiative aims to promote the local economy and nurture young talent by disseminating local content—discovered through the eyes of young people—via LG HelloVision’s regional channels and social media, while providing participating students with practical experience linked to their academic curricula and mentoring.

The signing ceremonies were held on the 8th at the Busan Viewers’ Media Center and on the 17th at Dongguk University’s campus, respectively. Key officials from each institution attended the events on both days, including Lim Seong-won, Executive Vice President of LG HelloVision; Noh Seong-rae, Director at LG HelloVision; Kang Gyu-young, Vice President of Dongguk University; Kim Yong-seong, Department Chair at DONGSUH University; Lee Hong-ryeol, Director of the Seoul Viewers’ Media Center; and Bae Hyo-soon, Director of the Busan Viewers’ Media Center.

Through this agreement, the institutions agreed to join forces to foster young talent and promote ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) values in local communities by: △ pursuing collaborative projects such as the production and dissemination of local content from a youth perspective; and △ creating a sustainable industry-academia collaboration ecosystem by linking human and material resources.

At the launch ceremony held following the signing ceremony, approximately 50 students from Dongguk University and DONGSUH University were appointed as members of the “Local Editor Crew.” The crew members will conduct monthly team activities in Seoul and Busan, discovering local flavors, spaces, people, and issues to produce short-form and video content. The produced content will be broadcast on LG HelloVision’s regional channels and published in the “Local Digging” magazine on Instagram, and scholarships will be awarded to crews demonstrating outstanding performance.
