KT Skylife Co., Ltd. announced on the 30th that subscribers to “ipit TV,” its IP-based broadcasting service, have surpassed 240,000 just one year after its launch. Internet subscribers have also surpassed 660,000, showing steep growth.

As both broadcasting and internet subscriber numbers have increased, the average revenue per user (ARPU) has also risen. The company appears to be pursuing sustainable growth that simultaneously delivers both scale and strong profitability.

Launched last July, “ipit TV” utilizes KTCorporation’s high-quality internet network to deliver seamless, high-definition viewing. It also offers a monthly discount of 2,200 won to subscribers of YouTube Premium and major OTT services (such as Netflix, Disney+, and Wavve).

By appealing to value-conscious consumers, the service attracted an average of nearly 20,000 new customers per month. As the number of TV subscribers grew, the number of bundled customers—those using both TV and internet services together—naturally surged. As a result, as of the end of June this year, the number of internet subscribers exceeded 660,000.

The company expects that, if the current trend continues, it will easily surpass its year-end targets of “300,000 ipit TV subscribers and 700,000 internet subscribers.”

With the rise in subscribers, the company has also revamped its product lineup to offer greater variety. “ipit TV Choice,” launched on the 8th, is a customized plan that allows customers to select and bundle paid channels—such as movies and family-friendly options—with basic live TV. Customers can also change their genre selection once a month, enabling them to enjoy a wide range of content cost-effectively.

To mark the first anniversary of its launch, the company is also holding a customer promotion. Throughout August, new subscribers who sign up via the website or customer service center will receive one month of free access to four popular paid channels, including SPOTV Prime and CatchOn.

KT Skylife Co., Ltd. plans to continue driving the growth of this IP service while also enhancing the competitiveness of its core satellite broadcasting business. Leveraging the wide coverage and stable quality unique to satellite broadcasting, the company aims to establish itself as a media platform that encompasses both IP and satellite services.
