[Edaily Reporter An Yu-ri ] Kakao Games Corp.(293490)announced on the 3rd that XL Games has revealed the official title of its upcoming PC MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game), “ArcheAge S: Strait of Freedom,” currently in development, and has signed a global publishing agreement.

“ArcheAge S” is a PC MMORPG currently in development with the goal of global service, and it is being optimized exclusively for the PC platform. Producer Kim Kyung-tae, who previously served as the first Head of Planning and Producer for the original “ArcheAge,” is leading development as the project’s general manager. The game is characterized by its reinterpretation of the original IP’s core values and identity to align with modern gaming trends.

Through this agreement, Kakao Games Corp. has secured the rights to launch “ArcheAge S” both domestically and globally, thereby strengthening its lineup of new games. Leveraging its accumulated expertise in MMORPG publishing and live operations, the company plans to implement multifaceted marketing strategies and provide stable service, while working closely with the developer to deliver a high-quality gaming experience to users both in Korea and abroad.

Since its launch in 2013, the original “ArcheAge” has been a leading Korean IP, consistently beloved by players worldwide for its deep world-building based on the original novel, high degree of freedom, and large-scale battles. Following the 2023 release of “ArcheAge War” and the 2024 launch of “ArcheAge Chronicle,” the franchise continues to expand across various platforms and genres with the introduction of “ArcheAge S.”
