[Edaily Reporter Lee So-Hyun ] Artificial intelligence (AI) data and solutions company FLITTO Inc.(300080)will supply its AI translation and interpretation solution to major CJ Olive Young brick-and-mortar stores. FLITTO Inc. announced on the 5th that it is supplying its AI-based interpretation and translation solution, “Chat Translation,” to major Olive Young brick-and-mortar stores.
This rollout focused on stores in key commercial districts with high volumes of foreign tourists, such as Seoul, Busan, and Jeju. The solution is currently being used to assist foreign customers at major locations.
The solution was implemented in two formats tailored to the store environment: a version specialized for beauty consulting and a version integrated into staff PDAs.
The beauty consulting version has been introduced at major stores such as the Gwangju Hanam branch, N Seongsu, Apgujeong Rodeo, Central Gangnam Town, Gyeongju Hwangnam, and Beauty Mansion Seongsu.
These stores operate primarily as K-Beauty experience spaces. FLITTO Inc. explained that by introducing this solution, it has created an environment where foreign customers can receive more detailed product explanations and personalized consultations.
For the employee PDA app version, approximately 2,100 accounts were distributed so that all store employees could use the app immediately on the sales floor.
FLITTO Inc. has enhanced translation quality by continuously refining its beauty-domain-specific training based on Olive Young’s product data and real-world usage data. Through this, the company plans to translate proper nouns—such as product names, cosmetic ingredients, and technical terms—more accurately into multiple languages, thereby providing foreign customers with a highly reliable shopping experience.

Chat Translation supports up to 42 languages. It goes beyond simple translation and is optimized for real-world in-store consultation scenarios. Compared to general-purpose translation tools, it offers higher accuracy in translating technical terms—such as cosmetic ingredients and product names—enabling staff to provide natural and professional customer service.
Its on-site adoption is also rapidly increasing. According to FLITTO Inc., the average daily usage per store for the beauty consulting-specific version is around 15 to 20 sessions. It is being used not only for English, Chinese, and Japanese but also to assist with less-common languages, driven by the increase in tourists from Southeast Asia and Europe.
In fact, at stores with a high proportion of Russian customers, the ability to provide Russian-language support—which was previously difficult—has even led to cases where Russian customers were encouraged to sign up for the Olive Young app.
FLITTO Inc. expects that the introduction of this solution will enable step-by-step product explanations and recommendations even for international customers unfamiliar with basic skincare. The company explains that this will enhance customer satisfaction and lead to actual purchase conversions. It is also expected to reduce the burden on store staff and contribute to improved operational efficiency.
Lee Jeong-soo, CEO of FLITTO Inc., stated, “It is highly meaningful to build a shopping environment free of language barriers in partnership with Olive Young, which has established itself as a must-visit destination for tourists in Korea.” He added, “Having driven innovation in personalized offline language services based on AI data technology, we will continue to expand our partnerships with various industries where multilingual communication is essential.”
FLITTO Inc. plans to use this collaboration as an opportunity to expand the scope of AI translation and interpretation in offline retail environments. Moving forward, the company intends to expand into various distribution channels, such as warehouse-style stores and fashion and lifestyle stores, and explore the potential for application in specialized service areas, such as medical tourism.
