[Edaily Reporter KIM EUNG-TAE ] APR(278470)set a new record for its best-ever first-half performance this year. This was driven by the rapid growth of its cosmetics business in global markets. Expectations are rising that the company will achieve annual sales of 3 trillion won this year. Photo: APR According to the Financial Supervisory Service on the 7th, APR’s consolidated revenue for the second quarter of this year was provisionally estimated at 767.5 billion won, a 134.2% increase from the previous year. Operating profit for the second quarter was 190.6 billion won, up 134.5% year-over-year. Both revenue and operating profit marked all-time highs on a quarterly basis, and this is the first time quarterly revenue has exceeded 700 billion won. With these record-breaking second-quarter results, the company’s first-half performance also set a new all-time high. On a consolidated basis, revenue for the first half of this year reached 1.3609 trillion won, a figure approaching last year’s full-year revenue of 1.5273 trillion won. If this performance trend continues in the second half of the year, the company is expected to surpass 3 trillion won in annual revenue. The cosmetics business is cited as the driving force behind these strong results. Cosmetics revenue in the second quarter of this year reached 648.3 billion won, an increase of 185.5% year-over-year. As in the first quarter of this year, the company maintained triple-digit growth driven by its expansion into global markets, the expansion of online and offline channels, and the broadening of its product lineup. Photo: APR In the second quarter of this year, overseas sales surged 178.0% year-over-year, surpassing 700 billion won. Overseas sales accounted for 92% of total revenue. While the North American and European markets drove global growth, the company’s overseas sales structure diversified. The combined share of North American and European sales expanded from 40% in the first half of last year to 68% in the first half of this year. Revenue in North America totaled 376.3 billion won, a 264.6% increase year-over-year. This growth resulted from continued expansion of online channels, coupled with increased presence at major local retailers such as Target and Walmart. With an upcoming launch at Costco in the second half of this year, revenue growth in the North American market is expected to continue. In Europe, focusing on five major countries—the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain—the company expanded its presence on key online channels such as Amazon and TikTok Shop, resulting in first-half revenue of 145.1 billion won, a 380.3% increase year-over-year. In Asia, sales reached 121.1 billion won, a 14.5% increase year-over-year, driven by stable demand. Other regions also saw sales rise to 61.7 billion won, a 325% increase year-over-year, fueled by growing demand. An APR official stated, “The growth foundation we established, centered on North America, is rapidly expanding into new markets such as Europe, putting our global business on a stable growth trajectory,” adding, “We plan to continue strengthening our product and brand competitiveness while sustaining growth in overseas markets through the expansion of our global distribution network.”
