Following coverage of the senior national team and professional volleyball, the broadcaster is expanding its coverage to include international youth tournaments, thereby broadening its engagement with volleyball fans.

SOOP announced on the 5th that it will exclusively live-stream the South Korean national team’s matches at the ‘FIVB Women’s U-17 Volleyball World Championship,

taking place in Chile from the 7th to the 17th.

Organized by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), this tournament features 24 countries from around the world. The South Korean U-17 women’s national team secured its spot in the World Championship by winning last year’s U-16 Asian Championship. As Asian champions, they will face promising young players from around the globe.

The performance of player Son SEOYON is drawing particular attention on the national team. Son led South Korea to victory at the U-16 Asian Championship by winning both the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award and the scoring title. Other promising players who competed alongside her at that time have also joined this year’s national team to take on the global stage.

SOOP will exclusively live-stream all of the South Korean national team’s matches online, from the group stage through the knockout rounds.

In addition to the official broadcast, the platform will feature co-streams by content creators. The plan is to provide a variety of content so that users can enjoy the matches while interacting in real time.

Support for revitalizing youth and amateur volleyball will also continue. SOOP, in partnership with the Korea Volleyball Association, will run the “SOOP X Korea Volleyball Association Amateur Volleyball Streamer Development Project” for two months through September 30.

This project is aimed at volleyball enthusiasts in clubs, elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as universities. It is designed to support participants in creating and promoting their own volleyball content using SOOP’s mobile broadcasting platform.

During the project period, the top 10 teams that broadcast the longest duration of volleyball content via SOOP mobile streaming will each receive a scholarship of 300,000 won and five volleyballs.

SOOP’s policy is to support youth and amateur volleyball players in creating content that showcases their matches and training sessions, and to facilitate communication with users through the medium of volleyball.

SOOP is expanding its broadcast coverage to include the U-17 World Championship, following its coverage of the V-League, senior national team matches, and major FIVB international tournaments.

SOOP plans to expand the volleyball content ecosystem by partnering with the Korea Volleyball Association to support youth and amateur volleyball.
