[Edaily Reporter KIM EUNG-TAE ] Global beauty company APR(278470)has set a new record for its best-ever first-half performance this year, signaling its entry into the “3 trillion won annual revenue club.” This success is attributed to strong sales of cosmetics and beauty devices in global markets, led by North America and Europe. While expanding its sales channels into new markets such as the Middle East and Latin America, the company plans to further boost its corporate value by making a full-scale entry into the “energy-based medical devices” (EBD) and skin booster businesses.

According to the Financial Supervisory Service on the 5th, APR’s consolidated revenue for the second quarter of this year was provisionally estimated at 767.5 billion won, a 134.2% increase year-over-year. Operating profit for the second quarter reached 190.6 billion won, up 134.5% from the previous year. Both revenue and operating profit marked all-time highs on a quarterly basis, and this is the first time quarterly revenue has exceeded 700 billion won.
Buoyed by these record-breaking second-quarter results, the company’s first-half performance also set a new all-time high. On a consolidated basis, revenue for the first half of this year reached 1.3609 trillion won, a 129.2% increase from the previous year. Having achieved results approaching last year’s full-year revenue (1.5273 trillion won) in just the first half of this year, the company is now well on track to surpass 3 trillion won in annual revenue. Operating profit for the first half of this year was 342.8 billion won, a 150.4% increase compared to the previous year (136.9 billion won).
Analysts attribute this performance growth to the cosmetics business. Cosmetics revenue in the second quarter of this year reached 648.3 billion won, a 185.5% increase from the previous year. As in the first quarter of this year, the business maintained triple-digit growth driven by its expansion into global markets, the expansion of online and offline channels, and the broadening of its product lineup.
The beauty device business is also being supported by stable demand. Second-quarter beauty device sales reached 111.9 billion won, a 24.3% increase from the previous year. The launch of the new “Booster Glow” product—which incorporates premium aesthetic technology into home-care devices—and the expansion of global sales channels are cited as the main drivers of this sales growth.
Overseas sales in the second quarter of this year reached 767.5 billion won, a 178.0% increase year-over-year, with overseas sales accounting for 92% of total revenue. While the North American and European markets drove global growth, the overseas sales structure diversified. The share of sales from North America and Europe expanded from 40% in the first half of last year to 68% in the first half of this year.

Second-quarter revenue in North America totaled 376.3 billion won, a 264.6% increase year-over-year. This result stems from continued growth in online channels, coupled with expanded listings with major local retailers such as Target and Walmart. With a launch at Costco scheduled for the second half of this year, revenue growth in the North American market is expected to continue.
In Europe, focusing on the five major countries—the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain—the company expanded its presence on key online channels such as Amazon and TikTok Shop, recording first-half revenue of 145.1 billion won, a 380.3% increase year-over-year.
In Asia, driven by stable demand, revenue reached 121.1 billion won, a 14.5% increase year-over-year. Other regions also saw revenue rise to 61.7 billion won, a 325.0% increase year-over-year, fueled by growing demand.
APR plans to focus on expanding its overseas sales channels to achieve 3 trillion won in revenue in the second half of this year. An APR official stated, “Our experience in operating sales channels and our brand expansion capabilities in the North American market are being applied to Europe, where we are showing remarkable growth,” adding, “We will continue to expand the growth models from North America and Europe into new markets such as the Middle East and Latin America.”
The company’s strategy is to make a full-scale entry into the medical device and skin booster markets to enhance its expertise and influence as a beauty company. An APR official explained, “One of EBD’s flagship products has completed domestic approval procedures and is being validated for its performance and unique features through a network of leading medical professionals,” adding, “We will lay the groundwork for domestic commercialization and target overseas markets in time for the product launch, which is scheduled for as early as the end of this year or early next year.” The representative continued, “For the skin booster business, we have secured a foundation for overseas sales by obtaining Class 2 medical device certification and export approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS). Small-scale exports began in the second quarter of this year, and full-scale overseas sales to markets such as Japan and the Middle East are scheduled to begin in the third quarter.” They added, “For the domestic market, we are concurrently pursuing the MFDS Class 4 approval process, which is expected to take about a year and a half.”
