[Edaily Reporter Kang Min-koo ] CONTEC Co.,Ltd(451760), a company specializing in space ground station services, is expanding its business scope from the space ground station services market to the antenna manufacturing market—a key component of ground station construction.

CONTEC Co.,Ltd announced on the 5th that its subsidiary, TXSpace, has secured an order for six ground station antennas from KSAT, a Norwegian company and the world’s leading provider of space ground station services.

KSAT is a global company that has been providing space ground station services since 1967 and operates more than 300 ground stations across 28 locations worldwide.

Following its success with Planet Labs, TXSpace has now also secured an order for ground station antennas from KSAT. Although the company was established only two years ago, it has already exceeded its maximum annual production capacity and is awaiting contracts from other global customers for next year’s production volume.

In particular, the company is considering expanding its factory to accommodate the increasing order volume and expand its production capacity. Based on this, it plans to meet the demand for ground station expansion and antenna replacement from overseas satellite operators and U.S. government agencies.

CONTEC Co.,Ltd is currently accelerating its push into the domestic ground station service market. It recently secured an additional ground station service contract worth several billion won from a government agency supporting the operation of national satellites, thereby demonstrating the capabilities and reliability required for national satellite projects.

A CONTEC Co.,Ltd official stated, “Our vertically integrated business model—which involves applying antennas from our subsidiary, TXSpace, to CONTEC Co.,Ltd’s global ground station network and then supplying them to external customers—has entered a growth phase.” The official added, “In the global ground station market, we will expand our market dominance by evolving from a mere service provider into a comprehensive space ground station company that directly supplies core infrastructure and equipment.”
