[Edaily Reporter Lee So-Hyun ] KTCorporation(030200)is operating its major stores nationwide as heat relief shelters so that citizens can rest safely during the heatwave.

KTCorporation announced on the 7th that it is operating 410 KTCorporation stores nationwide—including locations in Seoul, Busan, and Daejeon—as heat shelters.

By region, 213 locations in Seoul are operating as “Climate Companion Shelters.” In Busan, 127 locations are operating as “Our Neighborhood Climate Shelters,” and in Daejeon, 70 locations are operating as “Cold and Heat Wave Shelters.”

Heatwave shelters are rest and refuge spaces established to protect citizens’ health and safety during heatwaves.

KTCorporation is collaborating with local governments to provide KTCorporation stores—which are highly accessible to citizens—as cooling shelters. Certification plaques from each local government are displayed at store entrances so that citizens can easily identify them.

A KTCorporation official stated, “We are operating these heatwave shelters so that citizens can escape the heat, even if only briefly, and rest safely at nearby KTCorporation stores during heatwaves.”
