The Brunch Book Publishing Project is a publishing contest that Brunch has been hosting since 2015.

The 13th Brunch Book Publishing Project, held last October, received approximately 14,000 submissions. With a significant increase in entries compared to the previous edition, it recorded the highest competition rate in history at approximately 1,400 to 1. The 10 Daesang-winning works, selected through a rigorous judging process, are now being published as print books to reach readers.

The published works consist of a total of 10 titles: two in the fiction category and eight in the general category. In the fiction category, “The Most Human City” by author Jeong Hyeon-jae and “The Mountain of Beasts” by author Hong Jin-hee have been published.

In the General Category, the published works include “Insects Have Their Own Worries” by Jo Yong-ju, “Please Be Sure to Dispose of Me as a Person with No Next of Kin” by Lee Yu-jin, “Age 60: Living with Complete Strangers” by Cho Sun-hee, “I’ll Work for Just Two Hours” by Cactus, Park Hee-young’s *The Making of a Rootless Music Show*, Jeong Green’s *Think from the User’s Perspective*, Lee Su-min’s *Once You Eat Something Delicious*, and Jo Nam-sik’s *The Pioneering History of Chungju City’s B-Grade Publicity* were published.

Participating publishers include Sigongsa, Day One, Chair by the Tree, Samter, Humanist, Anon Books, Hanbit Media, Clay House, Gingko Tree, and Storyteller.

To commemorate the release, Kakao has also organized events to expand its reach to readers. Starting on the 10th, online promotional campaigns will be held on KakaoTalk’s “Gift” feature and YES24 Co.,Ltd. Yes24’s webzine “Channel Yes” will feature a series of relay interviews with the authors of the 13th Brunch Book collection.

The “Brunch Book Club,” a reader-participation promotion, will also run for two weeks. Participants can join by writing reading notes during live reading sessions on Brunch and sharing screenshots of their entries. Anyone can participate, and reading the 13th Daesang-winning title and writing a reading note will increase your chances of winning.

Participants will be entered into a drawing to win prizes such as e-readers and a 10-book set of all 13th edition published titles, each autographed by the authors.

A Brunch representative stated, “We have prepared various special exhibitions and events so that these 10 outstanding works—selected after overcoming the highest competition rate in history—can connect deeply with more readers and gain wider recognition,” adding, “We will continue to contribute to revitalizing the creator ecosystem and expanding the base of reading culture so that hidden gems of stories can be brought to the world through Brunch.”
