Paycoin Acceptance Locations to Be Expanded in Phases
[Edaily Reporter An Yu-ri ] “PayChain,” the on-chain financial infrastructure that will serve as the foundation of the PayCoin (PCI) ecosystem, is launching its open beta service.
DANAL CO., LTD.(064260)PayProtocol, a company specializing in virtual asset payments, announced that it will begin the enterprise-focused open beta for PayChain starting on the 10th. The beta will run through November 30, and participating companies will be accepted on an ongoing basis throughout this period.
PayChain is an infrastructure that records the entire process—from payment to settlement confirmation—using a digital settlement voucher unit called a “Receipt.” Only the evidence necessary for verifying authenticity and tampering is retained on-chain, while detailed records are accessible only to authorized participants, thereby simultaneously preserving the transparency of blockchain and the privacy required by the financial sector. The goal is to resolve, at the infrastructure level, the settlement, documentation, and tax compliance tasks that companies adopting virtual asset payments have traditionally handled manually.
Furthermore, PayChain serves as the core infrastructure for expanding the PayCoin ecosystem, with PCI playing a substantive role across the entire PayChain network.
△ PayMaster, which supports fee processing to enable network use without a separate gas token (a utility token for paying fees); △ staking, where participants such as validators guarantee network stability; △ governance regarding network operations; and △ the operation of facilitators responsible for verifying and executing Agent AI payments—all operate based on PCI. As payment and financial services on the network increase, the scope of PCI’s practical application expands accordingly.
Pay Protocol plans to expand PayChain into an open network that supports virtual asset payments, token issuance, digital asset management, and even automated payments between Agent AI agents, starting with the settlement infrastructure as its first phase. As PayCoin began as Korea’s first commercial virtual asset for payments, its role will expand through PayChain to become a utility token across the entire network, moving beyond its function as a mere payment method.
Shin Jeong-wook, CEO of PayProtocol, stated, “PayChain is an infrastructure developed based on seven years of experience in the virtual asset payment business.” He added, “The main purpose of this open beta is to apply real-world scenarios tailored to the varying settlement structures of different companies, and we plan to incorporate the results into the mainnet design before launching full-scale operations.”
