Its cumulative audience count stands at 2,132,446. The pace at which “The Odyssey” is approaching the 2 million mark is six days faster than that of “The Man Who Lives with the King” (Wangsa-nam), a film that drew 16.91 million viewers in South Korea. It is also six days ahead of director Christopher Nolan’s previous film, “Oppenheimer.” The momentum of “Spider-Man: A Brand New Day” (Spider-Man 4), which has consistently held the No. 2 spot at the box office since “The Odyssey” opened, is also impressive. “Spider-Man 4” drew 174,615 viewers on that day, bringing its cumulative total to 6,091,016. Among films released this year, “Spider-Man 4” ranks second in box office earnings, trailing only “The Man Who Lives with the King” (16.91 million viewers). Fourth place went to director Na Hong-jin’s “Hope” (14,523 viewers), and fifth place went to the Japanese documentary “What Should We Have Done?” (2,317 viewers). “Odyssey” also dominates in advance ticket sales. As of 8:28 a.m. on the 11th, “Odyssey” had sold 692,752 tickets.
