[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyun-ah ] Comprehensive payment services provider NHN KCP(060250)posted record-high revenue and transaction volume in the second quarter of this year, driven by expanded transactions with major domestic and international merchants.
NHN KCP announced on the 11th that its consolidated revenue for the second quarter of this year reached 383.4 billion won, a 28% increase compared to the same period last year. Operating profit rose 25% year-over-year to 15.4 billion won.
Total transaction volume for the second quarter reached approximately 17 trillion won, a 34% increase from the same period last year, marking a record high for any quarter. Both revenue and transaction volume hit all-time highs.
NHN KCP Headquarters This growth in performance was driven by expanded transactions from major domestic and international merchants. Overseas, the results reflected increased vehicle sales from existing global electric vehicle merchants and online sales transactions from new imported car merchants. Transactions from major merchants in sectors such as global fashion and online video services (OTT) also increased.
Domestically, the results were supported by increased transactions on major e-commerce platforms, the addition of new large merchants, and expanded transactions in high-value payment sectors such as telecommunications devices.
NHN KCP is expanding its portfolio of major domestic and international merchants by leveraging its payment infrastructure capable of stably handling large-scale traffic, its security capabilities, and its financial network integration technology.
The company is also accelerating its efforts in businesses targeting the next-generation payment market. NHN KCP recently joined the “AAIF” foundation, which promotes the standardization of global artificial intelligence (AI) payments. In preparation for the era of “agent-driven commerce,” where AI agents select products and make payments on behalf of consumers, the company is establishing related technologies and service operation systems.
It is also moving forward with the development of stablecoin payment infrastructure. The company has signed a business agreement with the global blockchain platform Avalanche to build a mainnet specialized for payments and is preparing for commercialization. In the second quarter, it completed a proof of concept (PoC) for online and offline stablecoin payments targeting its employees.
On the 23rd of last month, the company held a “Stablecoin Payment Demo Day” for merchants and representatives from the financial and blockchain industries, demonstrating features such as transaction inquiries via an administrator dashboard, hourly on-chain settlement, and blockchain-based international money transfers.
Park Jun-seok, CEO of NHN KCP, stated, “Building on our solid competitiveness in payment services, we achieved record-high revenue and transaction volume.” He added, “We will accelerate the development of a future payment environment where AI agents make payments on behalf of consumers and stablecoins serve as the core means of transaction in the AI era, thereby emerging as a leading global payment company.”
